【Overview of Hokkaido】 Geographical locationHokkaido is located at the northernmost tip of the Japanese archipelago, bordering the Sea of Japan to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the south, the Sea of Okhotsk to the northeast, the Russian Sakhalin Island (Sakhalin Island) across the Soya Strait to the north, and Honshu to the southwest across the Tsugaru Strait.
