El Lequio🔥, a modern bar in Naha, Okinawa, serves creative cocktails
It's been a long time since I saw that man and his signature shake. The bars in Naha are either Ginza style or use Okinawa's special awamori to make some simple special drinks; there are not many bars that make creative cocktails, and this one is one of them. The name of the store, El Lequio, is Spanish for "Ryukyu". The wine list is divided into four parts. The first part is some relatively refreshing and easy-to-drink wines like Highball; the second part is inspired by Latin American culture; the third part is inspired by Okinawa's characteristics; and the fourth part is non-alcoholic cocktails. The store was also a bar before, with a 15-meter-long bar counter. The wines in the wine cabinet are sorted by type.
I went there twice this time. On the last night, I finally met Satoshi who had returned from a business trip to the Middle East. I went to TOC four years ago because it was my 28th birthday. Satoshi gave me two whiskey shots at the time, one 10 years and one 18 years. Four years later, I came to Okinawa completely on a whim and gave me an 8+10+14 blended scotch shot at El Lequio. The book of life has one more story to tell. I paid the bill and found that including the service charge, it was less than 2,200 yen per cup. It is really cheap to drink in Japan now.
