Travel Guide to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in South Hua Hin

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is located 50km south of Hua Hin. The most famous attraction is Phraya Nakhon Cave, a temple built in a stalactite cave, which has been visited by three Thai kings.

Arrival: You can only charter a car or join a one-day tour. A small car costs more than 1,500 ts for a round trip, depending on the location of the hotel. If you go directly to this cave, you can drive to Bang Pu Beach. If you want to go to other attractions, the price of the charter will also be different. You can consult the hotel.

Mountain climbing: The preferred ticket is 200 ts. You can choose to take a boat ➡️ beach ➡️ ➡️ climb the main mountain, or like me, climb a small mountain ➡️ beach ➡️ climb the main mountain. Both routes have different scenery, depending on personal preference. You need to walk to the shallows when taking a boat, so your shoes/feet will get wet. Climbing a mountain requires a boat, suitable shoes, and water.

Time consumption: Taking a boat is definitely happier than climbing a mountain. The first small hill is along the coast. I walked and took pictures and climbed for less than half an hour. The main mountain is quite steep, and there is nothing to see along the way. It feels like climbing all the time, and it is quite hot and stuffy. If you exercise regularly, it should not be difficult. The second mountain is also about half an hour. It took me 75 minutes from the entrance to the cave.

Scenery: The scenery of the coastal hills is very beautiful, with some shrubs on the rocky cliffs. You can overlook the coastline and the island. Of course, it is also very cool in the cave. In addition to the temple, there is also a tomb and several places where monks perform rituals in the dark. You can sit there for a while and enjoy being there. After going down the mountain, buy a drink and sit on the beach to enjoy the breeze. If you want to play in the water, you can bring a swimsuit. The beach is much more beautiful than Hua Hin.
