Bangkok's most famous red-light districts include Si Cowboy, Nana Plaza, Patpong and Soi Twieau, all adjacent to the city center. Workers are usually female, and women are lured from rural areas of the country into the city in search of work, but with limited education and lacking other credentials for what they can do in an increasingly globalized city. These areas are well-known, often high-end, establishments that are not illegally trafficked or forced workers, which has greatly reduced this presence, as well as the country's own eagerness to avoid international backlash against such moral violations.Patpong
Silom district is where it’s at. Waiting for vans first gained popularity during the Vietnam War, and today its two main streets, Pong Soi 1 and Patpong Soi 2, continue to attract visitors who come to see the illegal nightlife. Nana Plaza
In the early 1990s, Patpong introduced the situation.
