Conrad Seoul Hotel, next door to the best shopping mall Yeouido Hyundai Department Store
The design of the public area of Conrad Seoul Hotel is not very prominent. It feels a bit stereotyped and does not give people a bright feeling. It can be called the most orthodox decoration style of traditional luxury hotels. However, the public area facilities are relatively new. In theory, it can be given 4 points. 0.5 points were deducted because it was unknown which idol or public figure stayed here during the stay, resulting in the lobby on the first floor being full of fans, blocking the guests from traveling, and even only half of the elevators were open to guests, greatly reducing the traffic efficiency. The hotel may lack a solution to deal with such a situation and has not balanced the needs of guests and special customers. As a hotel opened in 2012, the room facilities of Conrad Seoul Hotel are still well maintained. The living room, cloakroom and bathroom are very spacious, with intelligent control throughout the house. The views of the living room and bedroom are very good, and you can see the Han River and the urban landscape of Seoul. The bathing supplies are a full set of Byredo, which is a plus. The minibar and beverage area are embedded in the TV cabinet and are not free. However, the design of the bathtub is somewhat confusing. First of all, the size of the bathtub is small. Secondly, the bathtub is not placed against the window or wall in the common way, but against the side of the washbasin, which is quite separated.
From the perspective of pure tourists, the location of Conrad Seoul is not the best, but it can be regarded as above average. The hotel is located in Yeouido in the west of Seoul, about an hour's drive from Incheon Airport and about a 10-minute walk from the subway station. It takes half an hour to reach Hongdae by subway and about 40 minutes by taxi to reach Gangnam (Apgujeong). Overall, it is not far from various tourist gathering areas, but not close. It is worth highlighting that next to the hotel is Yeouido Hyundai Department Store, the best shopping mall in Seoul, which is a 5-minute walk away. Shopping and dining are extremely convenient. In addition, it takes 15-20 minutes to walk to Yeouido Hangang Park, which is very convenient for walking and eating instant noodles at night.
Most of the hotel staff can communicate in English for daily life, but some concierges have poor English proficiency. Even if you ask questions in English, they will only respond to you in Korean. The doorman enthusiastically helped with the luggage. From the moment we entered the door, the concierge staff guided us through check-in and elevator use. All the concierge staff we met in the corridor would greet us warmly and ask if we needed a taxi.
