Aloft Seoul Myeongdong, ✅an international hotel chain with an excellent location
After staying at Stay B Hotel in Myeongdong for two nights during our trip to Korea, we moved to Aloft Myeongdong, which opened in early February 2017. The hotel is a brand of Marriott Hotel Group, known as the affordable version of W Hotel. It has a fashionable and novel design and is very popular among young people. Hotel location
Aloft Myeongdong is located next to the Myeongdong business district, and it only takes 1~2 minutes to walk to the money exchange in Myeongdong. If you take the subway, it is 5~6 minutes to walk from Exit 6 of Line 2 "Euljiro 1-ga" Station (with elevator) or Exit 7 of Line 4 "Myeongdong" Station (with escalator).
The hotel is near the roundabout of Shinsegae Department Store. The building with colorful lights is Aloft Myeongdong.
The first floor of the hotel is the Concierge service counter, where you can store your luggage before check-in or after check-out, or ask the hotel to help you call a taxi.
Take the elevator up to the 2nd floor to check in at the counter.
Behind the counter is the W xyz bar, which has a trendy design and a good atmosphere both during the day and at night.
To get to the guest room, you must use the room card to press the floor. This time I stayed in an Aloft Room with two beds. The room size is 22 square meters, about 6 square meters. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The bath products are from the American brand bliss, which is used by Aloft all over the world. Some rooms have bathtubs, but there is no independent shower room. Instead, a curtain is used to separate the dry and wet areas.
Most Korean hotels do not provide toothbrush and toothpaste sets for environmental reasons, but four- and five-star international hotel chains usually do.
The bed is 130 cm wide, much wider than the 80 cm single bed at Stay B Hotel the previous night. The bed is moderately soft and hard, and very comfortable to sleep on.
There are international sockets and two USB sockets next to the bed. You can charge your phone on the bed without using an adapter, which is very convenient.
There is a small sofa by the window, and looking out is the roundabout next to New World Department Store. The night view is also quite beautiful.
