Capella Ubud Bali, an eco-friendly luxury tent hotel designed by designer Bill Bensley

Capella Ubud Bali, which won the 2023 Global Hotel of Travel + Leisure, is an eco-luxury tent hotel designed by Bill Bensley, the creator of paradise and a design genius. The hotel is located on the banks of the Wos River, in the dense rainforest area of Keliki Village, close to the Sacred Monkey Forest Park and Ubud Art Market. It has won the favor of travelers with its unique sense of paradise-like vacation. There are so many hotels in Bali, how does Capella Ubud stand out?

Inspired by early European settlers in the 19th century, world-class garden master Bill Bensley conceptualized this ultra-luxury tent area to express their adventurous spirit. The entire planning of Capella Ubud was not at the cost of destruction, and during the subsequent construction period, no trees were cut down, and the original landscape ecology of the plot was preserved truthfully. On the basis of environmental protection and respect, Capella Ubud fully considered the local Southeast Asian culture and integrated it into the overall planning of the hotel. In terms of theme selection, Capella Ubud was inspired by 19th century European colonists. In order to reinterpret the camping life of early colonists, different professions were used as design backgrounds - chiefs, naturalists, cartographers, photographers and engineers, to pay tribute to their adventurous spirit. It can be concluded that "19th century, retro, adventure" is the theme tone of the entire project.
