The rooms at Shanghai Volkswagen Airport Hotel are overall clean, and I didn't hear any noise at night!
I need to stay overnight at Pudong Airport when I return to China during this Spring Festival. The hotel I have chosen this time is the Shanghai Volkswagen Airport Hotel. The main reason is that I don't have to leave the terminal building, the location is really great. The hotel is located between T1 and T2, approximately 5 or 6 minutes away from T2 terminal. Go to the location shown in Figure 1 and take the elevator to the second floor. The south and north buildings are on the left and right sides. I heard that the South Building has just been renovated and will be quieter, so this time I chose the South Building. Of course, the price is slightly higher than that of the North Tower. The price for booking one month in advance is $90.The interior of the room is shown in Figure 5. The room is overall clean, and I didn't hear any noise at night. Of course, there are many other cheaper hotels near Pudong Airport, but another hotel I previously booked said there was only one shuttle bus per hour. If I miss it, I will have to wait for another hour... So I gave up and switched to this. Friends who have enough time can consider other hotels in the surrounding area.
When I caught the plane in the morning, I felt much more relaxed. I slowly walked to Terminal 2. By the way, before entering T2 to check in, you need to pass through security for all your luggage and backpacks. I had to take out my phone from my pocket and my watch to check. This is something I didn't expect. In addition, Shanghai's security checks are very strict when leaving customs. Because there was a box and a charger with a metal seal in the backpack, I opened and checked it again. The same backpack has been checked twice at two other airports before. Overall, the check-in queue takes 20 minutes and the security check takes 20 minutes.
