Grand Mercure Bangkok NANA Plaza Atrium, 200 baht for a beer and a show is perfect
Speaking of Nana Plaza, it must be a holy place for many people to travel to Thailand. Both boys and girls can enter! Prepare your passport photo for inspection at the door! After entering, you can order a glass of wine for 200 baht and watch the show. It is perfect. Today, I will introduce an international five-star hotel near Nana Plaza, Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium, where a king-size room is only $60 per night.Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium opened in 1996 and was renovated in 2014. The address is 1880 New Petchaburi Rd, Bangkapi, Khet Huai Khwang, Bangkok. The geographical location is 700m from Phetchaburi subway station (about 11 minutes walk) and 27km from Suvarnabhumi Airport (about 43 minutes drive).
This time, I booked a superior twin room with an area of 30 square meters. The elevator and corridor of the hotel still have a certain sense of age. The atrium of the hotel is also designed by the older generation of hotels. You can find the same design language from Accor Grand Mercure in Shanghai. This time, the room was 1410. The room was much newer than expected. The decoration was not luxurious. The lighting was very bright. The room was marked as 30 square meters, but the actual feeling was more spacious. The toilet was still relatively narrow. Maybe the room area was reserved for the bedroom. There were two chairs by the window, not the sofa in the official picture. The city view of Bangkok was outside the hotel window. Since there were low-rise residential houses outside the hotel, the view was very wide. The check-in arrival time was 4 am. Although it was a 24-hour front desk, there was no one at the front desk when I arrived. I called the room behind the front desk many times before someone came out to check in. The good thing was that the front desk did not charge us a deposit (it was really inconvenient to pay the deposit without a VISA credit card)
The parking lot was free, and the hotel's elevator was still a bit old. One of the elevators did not respond to the ground floor and was stuck on the second floor and could not go down. The floor of the room was also slow to respond. I still don't know how to use this elevator correctly. As an international five-star hotel, Grand Mercure Bangkok is probably the only one at this price. Although it has some minor problems, it does not affect its choice as a short-term visit or even long-term stay in Bangkok.
