Flora Creek, Chiang Mai Forest Garden Hotel, located on mountain 20km from the ancient city
I love Flora Creek, a forest garden hotel in the mountains of Chiang Mai. This trip to Chiang Mai was my fourth time, so I didn't want to stay in the old city or Nimman Road. I chose to turn around and walk into the mountains. There is a stream next to the swimming pool under the big tree, and it is very comfortable to stay here. Flora Creek Hotel is about 20km away from the old city. It is located halfway up the mountain along Highway 1269. It can be reached by motorcycle. It's just that it will be a bit sunny when you go there in the afternoon. After waking up, I had breakfast and took snacks and wine to the swimming pool in the afternoon. It was so comfortable. And there was a big tree next to the swimming pool, so I wouldn't be exposed to the sun at all.I went there in the middle of the week, and there were not many people. I don't know if there were 20 people staying in total. Every time I went to the swimming pool, I might meet two people, or no one. I heard from the hotel staff that there are usually local Thai groups on weekends. Sisters who like fewer people should try to choose the middle of the week. The average cost per person is 30 USD. It is a great bargain to stay at a mountain resort with a swimming pool and a gym. It rained on the day we arrived, so we didn't go out to eat. We ordered room service, and a pizza was only 250 baht. It didn't cost a lot to eat at the hotel.
Of course, there are also some bad things. There are really a lot of bugs in the mountains. It rained when we arrived, and the next day, the floor of the room was full of big water ants. The hotel also has a free shuttle bus to the airport and central airport. There is only one bus a day, and reservations must be made in advance. It leaves the hotel at 12:30. It seems to return at 1:30 in the afternoon. If you don't rent a car and want to go, you can consider taking this bus.
