Pilgrimage to the centuries-old Holy Rosary Parish Church in Angeles City, Philippines

Angeles City is one of the cities in Pampanga Province, Philippines.

In 1571, Pampanga was planned by the Spanish as the first province, and it is also one of the richest provinces in the Philippines.

In Angeles City, there is a century-old church built by the Spanish in the 18th century called Holy Rosary Parish Church.

Opposite the church is Museo Ning Angeles.

This episode will introduce what interesting things these two places have to offer~~~~

First, let me teach you how to get here.

Just take a C Point Jeepney or Tricycle from Field Avenue and tell them you want to go to Holy Angel University.

▲There are many buses at C Point, and it only costs 8.5 pesos to the destination! Tricycle costs 200 pesos

After a 30-minute drive, we finally arrived at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. Today was Sunday, so there was a lot of traffic.

It happened to be Sunday when we arrived, so we were lucky enough to see the church in the middle of worship.

▲The priest gave his sermon in Filipino. Although everyone was listening, the atmosphere inside was quite solemn and dignified.

Outside the church, you can see many statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. Yuki saw many people touching the statues as they passed by. It is said that touching the statues will bring good luck, so of course she wanted to touch them to increase her luck.

I often hear that many people cannot tell the difference between Catholicism and Christianity, thinking that Catholicism worships the Virgin Mary and Christianity worships Jesus.

As a Catholic, I want to explain to you that the easiest way to distinguish Catholicism from Christianity is the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Catholicism worships Jesus, but in order to thank the Virgin Mary who gave birth to Jesus, both serve together.

Christianity serves the only God, the Lord Jesus Christ...

Of course, there are too many details to distinguish the difference between the two, but these two alone can simply distinguish the difference between Catholicism and Christianity.

Then walk to the back of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, and you can see a small prayer room that is very secluded.

▲ Entering the simple prayer room gives you a sense of peace.

After finishing the baptism at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, we walked across the street to visit the City of Angeles Museum.
