Lanna Ancient City and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Travel Notes, Thailand,

First of all, if it is your first time to go to Thailand, I would definitely recommend Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, etc. These cities are relatively old tourist destinations in Thailand. There are many places to play and many tourists. You can even see Chinese people everywhere on the streets. Moreover, Phuket is more suitable for young people. Patong's night market, beach, and bar street really allow people to have fun without feeling tired.

My overall impression of Thailand is still good. I worked as a Thai tour guide for a period of time before, and I had more opportunities to go to Thailand. Except for the hot weather and easy tanning, there is nothing wrong with it. Thailand is a place that prohibits drugs, gambling, but not pornography. Adult shows are a major feature of Thailand, and of course there are ladyboys. In fact, from the ladyboy culture in Thailand, we can see that Thailand's definition of "gender" is indeed relatively open. I think this is why some people don't want to go to India a second time after going there once, and Thailand can be visited frequently. Simply put, there is no such idea of "preferring men over women" in Thailand. Even if you are LGBT, the society's acceptance of you will exceed that of some developed countries. This may be related to Thailand's beliefs. The Hinayana Buddhism they believe in emphasizes that you should do good deeds in this life, because you only have this life, so whatever you want to do, as long as it is not something that harms the world, you can accept it and let you be yourself. Uh, it seems a bit off topic. This time I want to talk about two cities in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Chiang Mai is more powerful. It used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Emerald Buddha in Bangkok was enshrined in Chiang Mai before. After the unification of northern Thailand, the Emerald Buddha was placed in the capital Bangkok. Chiang Rai is close to the Golden Triangle, and you can experience the feeling of traveling to three countries at once.

Things to note in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai:

1. It is recommended to buy data cards online, which is more cost-effective, with an average cost of 5 or 6 yuan a day;

2. You don’t need to bring a conversion plug, and both ports of a normal mobile phone can be plugged in;

3. Be sure to bring mosquito bite spray. Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are not as modern as Bangkok, and the forest coverage rate is quite high, so the air is good, of course there are many mosquitoes;

4. Remember to bring 5000 RMB in equivalent currency and a two-inch white background photo for landing visa.

Itinerary (six days in total, round trip from Shanghai Pudong Airport)

The flight on the first night was so I checked into the hotel directly;

The second day: (recommended index five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, there are Buddha relics inside. Anyway, when you go to Thailand, you must go to temple attractions, so you must not miss Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. The local people are very pious and it is said that this temple is very effective. Doi Suthep is on the highest mountain in Thailand. You need to drive up, and then you can choose to climb stairs or take the elevator when you go up or down. Both are very convenient. You may have to queue up for the elevator, but walking down the stairs is not tiring at all. It is actually okay to go up.)

There will be a commercial street below Doi Suthep, similar to the exit of domestic scenic spots. I don’t recommend you to eat the snacks there. The waffles, fried skewers, etc. are really not delicious, and the juice is not very fresh. It’s better to buy some bottled drinks.

〖Tuk Tuk Tour Lanna Ancient City〗 (recommendation index five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, if you want tuk tuk, you can refer to the movie " "Thailand", many scenes in the movie were shot in Chiang Mai. You really need to be careful when riding this car. The speed is very fast. You can go to the Three Kings Memorial Square, the Thai Temple of the Flower Palace, and I highly recommend the Grand Pagoda Temple. You can go to the fruit street, but in Thailand the fruits are only in season when you go in May and June, and they are not particularly cheap or fresh at other times)

The Grand Pagoda Temple is also called Chedi Luang Temple

Evening 〖Transvestite Show〗 (recommendation index three stars⭐ ⭐⭐, of course, if it is your first time to go, you must go and see it. I am already tired of this kind of show, and it can make me fall asleep, but to be fair, the ladyboy show in Chiang Mai is better than the ladyboy show in Phuket The quality is higher. As the capital of Bangkok, there are many choices, it depends on which one you choose)

Dining recommendations: Siripanna buffet, which I think has the most authentic Thai sauce, and the noodles are very good; Black Forest Restaurant, an internet celebrity restaurant, remember to make a reservation, the environment cannot be said, I really like the bathroom inside , pure Thai food, you can try it.

〖White Temple〗 (recommendation index five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, this is a private building and a famous artist in Thailand Cha Renchai's masterpieces are very beautiful. There is also a free personal exhibition of Master Cha Renchai's paintings at the exit. It is recommended to go and see it. You will feel that the artist is really different from ordinary people, hahaha)

Day 4: 〖Golden Triangle + Opium Museum〗 (Recommendation index five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, since you are in Chiang Rai, you must go to the Golden Triangle and take a cruise , you can see the borders of the three countries, and you can board a small island in Laos, which is full of big-name A products and some smuggled products as well as Laos cigarettes. It is recommended to go with a tour guide to the Opium Museum, otherwise it will be boring to see it by yourself)

Mekong River Sunset

〖Black Temple〗 (recommendation index three stars ⭐⭐⭐, it is completely to promote the development of Chiang Rai, there is an additional scenic spot, created by a genius painter, I can’t remember the name, it is really eerie, So I personally don’t like it very much. The theme is hell and death. In addition, if you walk around carefully, it’s actually quite big. I just walked through the main hall and didn’t want to leave anymore.)

It’s right here This genius gentleman really shocked me that day

Meal recommendation: Wangfu Dinner; Dawanlin Palace Restaurant, you can come down to eat after enjoying the Mekong River. The food is good and you can enjoy the sunset.

The Wangfu meal also comes with a performance. It is better to go at night. The night view is beautiful but there must be many people

〖Royal Horticultural Exposition Garden〗 (recommendation index four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐, you can take a walk, it is really leisurely, I was walking and sleeping so I didn’t take any photos. The scenic spot is very young, similar to our large city garden)

Day 6: On the fifth night, I finished my meal near the airport and took the night flight back. I arrived in Pudong at around 4 o'clock, and I could still go to work, hahahaha.

The shrimp crackers bought at the convenience store are delicious

I really wrote a lot without realizing it. Overall, it was a pleasant trip. Maybe I will go there again in the future if I have the opportunity. Chiang Mai is more suitable for leisure travel. There are not so many attractions and places to play. It is closer to life in Thailand. The air and temperature there are much gentler than Phuket, especially when we go there in winter. Next to it is spring and autumn, a particularly comfortable climate. You can go on a group tour or a self-guided tour. There will definitely be shopping malls if you go with a group tour. Personally, I still recommend young people to go on a self-guided tour of three to five people. You can carpool wherever you go. For language, translation software will do. For semi-self-guided tours, you can book hotels, air tickets, and use a car. You can ask the hotel to help you book.

Price suggestion: If you go with a group and don’t buy anything, the average price per person is about 4,000, and the self-service price is around 5,000. Don’t think that consumption in Thailand is low. To be honest, it’s almost the same as in China, and it’s not even as good as food and accommodation in China.

Small pineapple

Don’t forget to eat small pineapple when you go to Thailand. It’s best to cut it freshly. It’s very sweet and won’t make your mouth feel bitter at all. You won’t get tired of eating it.
I wish everyone a happy time~
