Phuket Old Town

As early as the 16th century, Phuket Town was used as a seaport, and later developed into a tourist destination, preserving a large number of exotic buildings, especially Chinese and Portuguese architectural styles. The collection of buildings with national characteristics, plus the graffiti on the buildings, formed a beautiful landscape with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere. People can feel a sense of fashion blockbuster wherever they take a photo.

Phuket Town used to be a place where Chinese people gathered. It is said that many buildings here were built by Chinese people, so many Chinese tourists come here and feel at home.

Phuket Thai Hua Museum

Cultural customs and historical witnesses

Phuket is a city with many Chinese people. There is a Thai Hua Museum in its downtown area. The museum collects a lot of historical materials, showing the cultural customs and daily life of the Chinese and overseas Chinese living in Phuket, aiming to leave important historical witnesses for future generations. The Thai Hua Museum was originally an old Chinese school (a school run by Chinese) in Phuket Town. It was renamed the Thai Hua Museum in 2010. In modern times, the Chinese in Phuket attach great importance to Chinese education, and the Chinese schools here are also well developed. The level of Chinese education here is relatively high in Thailand. The construction of the museum was greatly assisted by the Phuket Charity Foundation.

There is also a Phuket Chinese Teaching Center in the museum, with several small classrooms and some Chinese teachers who are still serving the islanders to learn Chinese. Friends who want to learn about Phuket’s history can’t miss this place~!

Mai Khao Beach

Secluded from the world, enjoy the quietness

Mai Khao Beach is located in the northwest of Phuket. Although it is not as lively as the three major beaches in Phuket, if you want to enjoy a private and quiet vacation, then Mai Khao Beach is definitely not to be missed.

The entire Mai Khao Beach is surrounded by pine forests and has beautiful scenery. The isolation here is the most beautiful. You can walk for several kilometers here without seeing anyone. The beach is very quiet and still maintains its original feeling.

In addition to enjoying the scenery of nature, Mai Khao Beach also has a unique wonder, which is the "turtle laying eggs" from November to March of the following year. It has now become a scene in Phuket. All tourists who come to Phuket in this season quietly go to the beach at night to watch turtles lay eggs.

During the egg-laying period, turtles crawl onto the beach from the sea, and after choosing a place, they dig holes with their hind feet and then lay eggs. Turtles have a characteristic that when the first egg is laid, even if someone comes to it, the turtle will turn a blind eye and refuse to leave until a batch of eggs are laid before returning to the sea.

Wat Phra Thong

Long history and folklore

Phuket Golden Buddha Temple is located in the north of Phuket Province. It is one of the oldest temples in the area and is famous for a huge half-length golden Buddha statue. The golden Buddha in the temple protrudes above the ground above the chest. King Rama VI of Thailand visited the temple in 1909 and named it "Golden Buddha Temple". Visitors are not allowed to touch the golden Buddha. If you want to make a wish, you need to stick gold foil on other Buddha statues in the temple.

There are many interesting folk legends about the Golden Buddha Temple in Thailand. It is said that in ancient times, a little boy tied a buffalo to a wooden stake, and both he and the buffalo fell ill inexplicably. His father dreamed of this stake and found that it was the head of the Buddha statue. So he called them together to dig it, but after digging out the upper half of the Buddha statue, he could no longer pull out the lower half, and then there was the current temple. In the 18th century, Burmese people tried to move the Buddha statue, but they were attacked by a swarm of bees, making it impossible for the Burmese to dig, so the Buddha statue has been preserved to this day. Since its establishment, the temple has been popular with local people and has become an important place for them to pray and make wishes.

Patong Beach is crowded with tourists during the day, attracting more and more tourists. Tourists who like to go shopping also like it here, because there are several streets full of shops and restaurants near the beach, and there is endless fun in walking around. At night, resorts, open-air bars, dance halls, and nightclubs are crowded. Order a simple drink, chat with strangers in a foreign night, watch the nightlife of foreigners, and blow the sea breeze. It is really enjoyable.

Wat Chalong

Gorgeous temple architecture

Wat Cha-Long is the most gorgeous, largest and most popular Buddhist temple among the 29 hermitages in Phuket. Its architectural style combines the architectural styles of southern, central and northeastern Thailand. There are 108 golden Buddhas enshrined in the temple.

Wat Cha-Long is small but extremely quiet. Although its influence is far less than that of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple, this temple is far away from the hustle and bustle. It is indeed a quiet world in the Buddhist world. There are more people who listen to the Sanskrit sounds devoutly. There are also people who wear local costumes to take photos and wedding photos in the temple. Brahman Cape is perhaps one of the most important landmarks in Phuket. There is a saying that goes, "If you haven't been to Brahman Cape, don't say you have been to Phuket."

Here, visitors can enjoy the sun and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Andaman Sea from the southernmost island. The cape is very crowded in the evening because it is a popular observation point for sunset. Laem Phromthep is about 2 kilometers away from Rawai Beach. It is the southernmost cape of Phuket and the most beautiful sunset in Thailand, especially from late December to March. The golden water surface is gradually drawing a breathtaking scene. From the cape you can see the island in front, Nai Ya Beach on the left and Nai Harn Beach on the right.

The palm trees and fields with intricate shades of green facing the sea are bathed in golden sunlight at dusk, which is a unique visual shock in Phuket in summer. One of the landmarks of Brahman Cape is Kanjanaphisek Lighthouse, which was built on the occasion of King Bhumibol's 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne. The light from the lighthouse can be seen 39 kilometers away. Inside the lighthouse, there is an exhibition on the construction process of the lighthouse, including standard time and how to calculate the sunset time. At the top of the lighthouse is the most popular viewing point - here you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the cape.
