Seiza Utaki: Experience the prayer culture in the primeval forest of Okinawa

Sefa Utaki is located in Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture, and is the highest level holy place in the Ryukyu Kingdom. "Utaki" is the general name for the "holy places" where sacrificial activities are held in the Nansei Islands of Okinawa. Sankuri



Sankuri is one of the six sacred areas of Seifa Utaki. Passing through the triangular area formed by two large rocks, Sankuri appears before your eyes. Gold magatama was once unearthed under the rocks and has been designated as an important national cultural heritage. Seifa Utaki is said to have been created by Amamiku, the creator god of Ryukyu. The appearance of sunlight passing through Sankuri is similar to the legendary place created by the gods.

Cape Chinen Park



A beautiful spot near Seifa Utake No. 2 parking lot. In addition to Kudakashima, a sacred place associated with Amamiku, the creator god of the Ryukyu Islands, you can also see the beautiful scenery of Komaka Island, Tsuken Island, and Katsuren Peninsula. In the park surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides, there is a red-tiled east building and a walking path where visitors can stroll around. In the morning, you can see the breathtaking sunrise from Cape Chinen Park.
