Travel guide to Cebu, Bohol Island, Philippines, a guide to avoiding mines and having fun

After 11 days of traveling in the Philippines, I summarized the points to pay attention to and the places that must not be missed. I hope it will be helpful to everyone!

1. Manila is really easier to fall into traps than the islands. Please be very vigilant. Easily give your trust = easily give your money. For example: We took a tricycle to the museum in the Spanish Royal City. It was agreed that three people would pay 100 pesos, but when we arrived, they insisted on charging 100 per person. We must refuse it sternly. We finally gave 120. Example 2: Don't trust the solicitors in Manila. The basic sentence pattern is "There is no such bus, I can take you there", "This attraction is not open", "I can take you to this and this attraction". Not all of them are scams, but there is no need to take risks.

2. Don't book a one-day tour online in China. It is really more expensive than the local area. For example: For a one-day tour in Balicasag, we found a local black newspaper. It cost 2,700 pesos for a chartered boat for three people + 1,200 pesos for all island fees. Don't worry about the deposit. It won't be scammed. The total is less than 70 US dollars. We paid 3,000 pesos for a chartered car to see the church, tarsiers, Chocolate Hills and paddleboards. It should be cheaper. You can buy the tickets yourself when you arrive.

3. The first choice for currency exchange is Metrobank at Manila Airport. Secondly, bring your card to the ATM to withdraw cash. Don't exchange too much money in China, as the exchange rate is not cost-effective.

4. Generally, 8-10% service fee is directly charged on the bill for meals, so please don't bother to tip.

5. If you want to snorkel and see sardines in Bohol Panglao Island, you must pay attention to the time. It closes at 5 pm. (You can also stay there. We rented a motorcycle and drove there by ourselves. We just paid the ticket price + guide fee. It was not expensive. There were toilets and changing rooms.)

6. When renting a motorcycle in the hotel, you must start the engine and test drive to check the fuel gauge. We didn't check it and waited for an hour for the guy to come to fill the gas.

7. It is strongly recommended to stay for a day in Oslob. Many seaside hotels are very comfortable (Figures 2 and 3). You can stare at the sea, read books and drink coffee in the hotel restaurant. The prices here are cheap. You can take a tutu and it will stop when you wave. It costs 20 pesos per person.

8. To see whale sharks in Oslob, find a hotel and book a tutu car. The driver will help you buy tickets and get a number. Go there at 4:30 in the morning. You can see the super shocking fire clouds (Figure 1), which is like being in another world.

9. In Mobao, it is recommended that you go snorkeling by yourself if you can swim. There are many black people on the roadside soliciting customers. It costs 500 pesos per person. They may also say that there is a charge for going into the water. Don’t believe it. It’s not necessary at all! We have found black people and went down by ourselves. It’s better to go by yourself. You can see the sardines and turtles freely without following him all the time.

10. When choosing a hotel in Mobao, you can relax a little bit and find one with its own beach + complete infrastructure, but don’t choose to go to the White Beach. The main restaurants are still concentrated on the Sardine Storm. However, it is recommended to go swimming and watch the sunset on the White Beach (Figures 8 and 9). Many locals also like to go there.

11. There are many black people in Mobao who can report the itinerary. You must go to Kawasan! You can go creek diving (Figure 10), and you can jump into the lake from a height of up to 10 meters. It's very cool and fun! In a loose analogy: imagine how cool it would be to jump into every lake in Jiuzhaigou and swim a few laps.
