Traveling from Manila to El Nido, I was almost defrauded of $1,000 by a black taxi in Clark
There were no suitable flights, so we had to stay in Clark for one night. The flight from Guangzhou to Manila landed at Terminal T3, and the flight from Manila to El Nido departed from Terminal T4. The result of the discussion was to go to Terminal T4 to see if we could buy tickets on the spot. The two terminals are not close to each other, so you can take the free bus or take a taxi yourself. There were two Filipino guys at the bus station. One said that we must take a yellow taxi, which is more formal and costs about 300 pesos; the other took the initiative to take us to take a taxi. This is too enthusiastic. During the walk, he told us that it would cost 900 pesos. So that's it. Let's take it ourselves. It was already past 11 o'clock, and my daughter was hungry. Anyway, we had to rebook the flight, so we had to eat at the airport first. Each of us had a hamburger, which was not very delicious and felt shoddy. After dinner, I dragged my luggage and took my daughter out of the airport. A middle-aged woman came over immediately and asked where we were going and if we wanted a ride. I asked how much. She said it twice, and seeing that I was still confused, she took a pen and wrote on her hand, 950 pesos, forget it. Based on the experience of the last time, I still look for the Grab station, which is more formal.
Smoothly arrived at T4, 225 pesos. I was not allowed to enter the terminal. I saw a house across the road with tickets written on it, which should be selling tickets. I went over to ask, and it turned out that each airline in the Philippines sells its own tickets. There is a route from Manila to El Nido called airswift airlines, and you have to buy tickets from this company.
There is an airswift company office in the terminal, with a girl and a boy in it. I communicated with this girl in this office for more than 2 hours using translation software. The tickets to El Nido have been sold out in the past few days. The only way is to take a flight from Clark to El Nido at 9 am tomorrow, and you can stay in Manila or Clark tonight. This is the only way. Of course, staying in Clark is safer. When I bought the ticket for this flight in this office, it was already past 2 pm. When I went out, I wanted to take a taxi to Clark. I asked the staff at the airport taxi station, and they said it would cost 5,000 pesos. He suggested going back to Terminal T3 to take a bus to Clark Airport.
I took a taxi back to T3, and the driver asked for 500 pesos. I asked the staff at the Grab station again, and she also suggested taking a bus and pointed us to the bus station. I listened to the advice, had a full meal, and took the bus. A family of 4 got to Clark for 1,520 pesos, a 2-hour drive. Then I stayed in a hotel. The next morning, I left the hotel at 7 o'clock and rushed to the airport. It was relatively smooth.
I met 2 Chinese people in the airport terminal. Their experience was the same as ours, or even worse than ours. They also missed the flight from Manila to El Nido, and found an agent to buy a flight from Clark to El Nido. The agent asked for 1,000 US dollars. Because we bought the tickets from the airline, we spent the normal ticket price, only 550 US dollars for a family of 4. After that, we took a flight, a bus, and a boat and arrived at our accommodation in El Nido at 12 noon.
