The singing bowls used by Banyan Tree SPA in Macau are made of 7 kinds of metals, including gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, lead and mercury. The surface of the handmade bowl is uneven, which allows different audio frequencies to appear at the same time each time it is struck, and the vibration is long, which is called overtone. Compared with the bowls made by ordinary machines, the handmade singing bowls emit more high-frequency overtones, which can restore the brain waves and body to a state of deep relaxation and rest.
The singing bowls originally originated from the metal utensils used by residents in Tibet, Nepal and India living near the Himalayas about 2,500 years ago. They were used for cooking, placing food and preserving freshness. Later, Tibetans began to use singing bowls to strike overtones for religious sacrificial ceremonies to offer to Buddha. About 70% of the human body is water. When the singing bowl is struck, the frequency of the sound resonates with the body and brain waves through the water molecules in the body, which can relax the muscles, increase internal energy and balance emotions.
The whole singing bowl therapy starts with a cup of sweet and refreshing chamomile tea. First, adjust and calm the mind, and then gradually relax the body muscles from feet to head under the guidance of the therapist's meditation. The therapist will then place the singing bowl on the client's body and listen to the sound echoes after the singing bowl is placed on the body to know the approximate tightness and structure of the body's muscles. The therapist can use this to determine whether the singing bowl therapy of the body part needs to be strengthened and the corresponding massage therapy such as body stretching, kneading and other techniques to relieve muscle tension. After the treatment, the therapist will serve healthy refreshments and provide meditation and mindfulness guidance, allowing the client to find the feeling of "enjoying the present moment and calming the body and mind" and project this concept into daily life.
