1. Bus

There are stations in Mo chit and Ekkamai in Bangkok where you can take a bus to Pattaya. It takes at least 2 and a half hours from Mo chit to Pattaya (usually 3 hours), while it only takes 2 hours to take a bus from Ekkamai (2 hours if there is no traffic jam, but usually more than 2 hours)

In terms of fares, it is more cost-effective to depart from Ekkamai, with a ticket of 131 baht. Most tourists depart from Ekkamai, and there is a bus every half an hour. Of course, there are also direct flights to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

In addition, at Ekkamai Station, you can also choose to take a van. The price of a van is 160 baht. There are more and more flexible flights. Sometimes if you don’t want to wait, you can buy a van and leave immediately. It is worth noting that there are many companies operating vans. (Multiple ticket windows)

In Pattaya, you can take a bus to Bangkok from the Northern Bus Station. Among them, there are the most flights to Ekkamai, usually every half an hour, and there may be a bus every 10 minutes during peak hours. The second is to Mo chit, which has very few buses.

It is worth mentioning that there are quite a lot of tourists at present, which leads to the situation that the buses purchased on site are very late. For example, if you arrive at the station at 1 pm, you will find that you can only buy buses after 4 pm. . . . This means you have to wait for 3 hours. If you want to go to Bangkok Airport, you can get on the bus at Jomtien Bus Station and go to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The fare is 149 baht.

2. Take a taxi or drive

Taking a taxi is a very convenient way. You can skip the various procedures such as buying tickets and queuing at the station and go directly from the hotel. The price is usually 1400-1500 baht. If you ask the taxi, or the hotel will help you call a taxi. Of course, you can also choose to use taxi-hailing apps such as Grab or bolt. Grab taxis are more expensive, and there are also floating prices, which means that you need to bear a premium when going to Pattaya during peak hours, even for long-distance travel. Bolt is usually 1300+, and in fact, Bolt has increased its price a lot.

If you take a taxi from Pattaya to Bangkok, here are some tips. Of course, you can also choose to use your mobile phone to call a taxi in Pattaya, or the hotel to call it, as well as various taxi service stations on the road. The tip provided here is that when you walk to Sukhumvit Road, you may encounter taxis returning to Bangkok. 95% of these taxis are empty. You can take a taxi back to Bangkok at a very low price, such as 500 baht, 600 baht, or 700 baht. It depends on the bargaining skills of different drivers and tourists. Of course, if you ask in Thai, the price will be lower.

I often take a ride back to Bangkok for 500 baht, and the driver also earns a little gas money. I am alone, so it is easy to bargain. Most of the time, you want the taxi to use the meter, but if the driver suggests using the meter, please refuse it and ask the driver if he wants to go back to Bangkok without the meter for 600. 80% of taxi drivers are not willing to go back to Bangkok empty, even if they really do so many times. As for self-driving, there is nothing to say, rent a car, use the navigation, and have an easy journey.

3. Train

Taking a train from Bangkok to Pattaya is not very convenient for tourists.

First, it takes too long, including the time to get to the train station, the time to get to Pattaya, the time to get from Pattaya train station to the city hotel, etc. Second, it is not very convenient. Inconvenient refers to the train schedule, which is not rolling like buses, and tourists need to coordinate with the train schedule. Of course, the price is very cheap, more than 30 baht can get to Pattaya, or from Pattaya to Bangkok.

4. High-speed rail

Yes, there will be such an option in the future, but when? I don’t know

5. Yacht or boat

If you have a yacht, you may be able to drive there.
