Cebu Resort Hotel Experience, Mactan/Mactan Shangri-La Hotel, Deluxe Ocean View Room

Mactan Island Shangri-La, also known as Mactan Island Shangri-La, is only a 15-minute drive from the airport and can be easily reached by grab.

This hotel should be the ceiling of Cebu City hotels. The room rate is 350$ all year round, and you have to book it in advance. After five days and four nights, I really like it.

There is a riot dog security check upon entering the hotel. After check-in, the front desk will lead you to the room and introduce the hotel's facilities and restaurants.

The room we stayed in was a deluxe sea view room in the main building. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The size and decoration of the guest rooms are standard at Shangri-La (the decoration of the main building and the Ocean Building are different). The glass bottle of water will be replenished every day, and the welcome fruit is Filipino special pastries + three mangoes. Further forward from the main building is the Ocean Building. Personally, I think the main building is better decorated, but the Ocean Building has full sea view rooms, an exclusive swimming pool and breakfast at Aqua.

The sea in the hotel is a fun spot for vacation. The sea water is crystal clear. There are many big white fish in the sea water near the beach. If you buy a bottle of fish food in the hotel, a group of fish will surround you. If you go out for some snorkeling, you can see a lot of corals and fish, and even clown fish. In addition, water sports are also available (for a fee). There is a bar next to the beach where you can order drinks and food. The price is not expensive. You can order a glass of shake and lean on the lounge chair to look at the sun and the sea. It will give you a sense of vacation. .

The buffet restaurant in the main building of the hotel has a lot of people for breakfast, and you have to queue up. However, the buffet breakfast restaurant (Italian restaurant in the evening) Aqua in the Ocean Building has less people and a better view. The view of the Horizon Club is not as good as Aqua, but there are the least people for breakfast, so you don’t have to wait for a table. There is also an a la carte menu.

For dinner, we went to Aqua, the Wednesday Korean cuisine themed buffet dinner in the main building, and seafood seafood restaurant.

Aqua eats Italian food, the pizza is freshly baked in the oven and is crispy and delicious, and the pasta is authentic and cost-effective.

The Korean food buffet restaurant is a themed buffet with pure Korean flavor. Many Koreans are eating there, and the waiters also perform Korean songs and dances. It tastes good and you can eat whatever you want. It is only available for dinner every Wednesday.

The seafood restaurant is half restaurant and half bar. It is located on the edge of the hotel pier. It is very close to the sea and has a sea view terrace. The view is great and there are many outdoor seats. I don't know how to eat the food, but it feels average, but the drinks are great and the view is good. One thing these three restaurants have in common is that the waiters serve very, very well and are well trained.

The famous Chi Spa is on the other side of the hotel lobby. It is a separate villa area dedicated to spa treatments. The environment is quiet and beautiful, and it is worth visiting.

The sea in Shangri-La, Mactan Island is clean and beautiful. Although it is not the best sea in the Philippines, the overall accommodation conditions are excellent. Many places in the Philippines with better sea water are not as good as accommodation here, and they also require transportation by car and ship. In comparison, Shangri-La is close to the airport and has good accommodation conditions. It is definitely the first choice for lazy people on vacation.
