This problem, with its charming Tower of Hanoi cognomen, is an educational toy founded in ancient Indian legend. According to this legend, after Brahma had created the world, he made three diamond pillars on which 64 golden discs were stacked in order of size from lowest to highest. Brahma commanded the Brahman to rearrange the discs, starting from the smallest to the biggest, onto another pillar. Furthermore, he ordered that a larger disc could not rest on a smaller one, and only one move can be made in any of the three pillars at a given time.
The legend then morphed into a Tower of Hanoi game played according to the following rules:
1. There are three poles A, B, and C. Several discs are stacked on pole A
2. The smaller discs must always be placed on the larger discs when they are moved
3. All the discs will have to be taken from pole A to pole C
