Hanoi, previously named Da Luo, is the capital and second largest city in Vietnam. It is the political, cultural and technological nerve center. After North and South Vietnam came together in 1976, it became the capital of the unified state. Located in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam, covering an area of 3,340 km2, and having a population that crosses over 8.05 million individuals, the city goes by the moniker "City of Spring Flowers".
