Hokkaido's natural treasure - Onuma Park (Onuma Quasi-National Park). Surrounded by Mount Komagatake, the lake and mountains complement each other. In early winter, although the red leaves gradually fall and only sparse dead leaves are left on the branches, there is more tranquility and clarity.
Lake Onuma and Lake Konuma are like natural mirrors, with clear water reflecting the blue sky and distant mountains. Rowing a boat in the lake, it feels like entering a fairy tale world. Mount Komagatake is like a sleeping giant, and it looks particularly mysterious in the clouds and mist. Although I didn't see the figure of the swan today, it is said that every year from late autumn to early winter, flocks of swans will fly here from Siberia to spend the winter. It's a pity that I missed their elegant dance, but this also gave me a reason to come again. I look forward to seeing their elegant figures on the snow-covered lake next time.
In addition, there are many trails suitable for hiking and cycling, passing through the forest and the edge of the lake, and every step is a scenery. If you are tired, you can also soak in a hot spring nearby to relax and feel the warmth of Hokkaido in winter. Traveling is like this, with regrets and surprises. Although I missed the whooper swan this time, I gained the tranquility and beauty of Onuma Park. This early winter is worth keeping in my heart.
