You can tell from my Travel posts that I was very anxious about choosing a hotel, mainly because of my limited budget. I also looked at Katathani and other hotels, but they were indeed too expensive. I was very satisfied with the Grand Kata ViP Hotel I finally chose. I stayed here for the 4 nights I went there. It is very cost-effective. Let me tell you about its advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
1. The location of the hotel is very good. It is located in Kata Street, and life is very convenient. There are two Kata night markets downstairs. It is a 10-minute walk from Kata Beach, which is a very central location. There are 2 711s nearby, and I go there every night to buy food.
2. The hotel facilities are new and have not been open for long. There is a large swimming pool (shared with the hotel next door, but not many people) and it is relatively safe.
3. The rooms are large. Their smallest one-bedroom apartment has basically two balconies (gay men can secretly smoke on the balcony). There are simple stoves and microwaves, which can heat some breakfast.
4. The hotel service is not bad. There is no difference in treatment as in Xiaohongshu. I mentioned in the email that we are on a honeymoon Trip. After arriving at the hotel, they prepared some flowers in the room, which feels very considerate.
5. The price is cheap, which is the key point. We booked a high-quality deluxe one-bedroom room, which is about 330 per night (excluding breakfast). I think it is really cheap there.
Disadvantages:
1. The water quality is not very good. I brought a filtered shower head and basically changed it once a day (but I don’t think this is a problem, because the water quality in Phuket is similar).
2. There is construction at the construction site next door, which is a problem that many people are worried about. I made a note in advance in the email, so the room he gave me was close to the inside, and I slept very well.
3. The room cleaning is not very serious. I basically clean it every other day, and I will put 20 baht on the table every time. She cleaned it very clean the first time, but she was more sloppy the second time, basically just cleaning it simply.
In fact, regarding the three major beaches, I still recommend everyone to go to Kata or Karon. Because of my personal experience these days, Patong Beach is indeed not clean. 90% of the people on the street are Indians and blacks (not racism, just a different feeling). My friend who lives in Patong told me that the noise of motorcycles is very loud at night. When I went to Patong myself, the motorcycles on the street were riding very fast. There are fewer people in Kata and Karon, and it is also very quiet. Basically, there are Chinese and Europeans.
The above is just my personal summary. It depends on your preferences and financial ability.
