Okura Tokyo is a treasure-class hotel in Japan. Even though many international hotels have opened in Tokyo, the status of Okura Tokyo Hotel has always been unshakable. Local hotel brands have unique advantages in the use of local culture and skills, but their international recognition depends on their own design and service strength, and Okura Tokyo Hotel is a very typical success story.
The Japanese call the three most famous hotels in a field "the three great hotels". Okura, located in Tokyo's Minato District, is collectively called "the three great hotels in Tokyo" with the Imperial Hotel Tokyo and the New Otani Hotel. It is known as one of the best examples of "East-West integration" in Japanese architecture.
The hotel was built for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and rebuilt for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. From the exclusive hotel of the Olympic Committee to welcoming foreign guests, it has become a "state guesthouse" in the minds of Tokyo people. Countless political and business celebrities have stayed here since its opening.
The rebuilt hotel consists of two buildings, namely the Okura Heritage Wing and the Okura Prestige Tower.
The Gu Ya Pavilion is traditional Japanese style. The rooms are surrounded by gardens on three sides and all are equipped with steam saunas. The Xin Yi Pavilion focuses on modern simplicity. The 368 rooms are located above the 28th floor, and the bustling night view of Tokyo City is in full view. Before checking in, the guests are given a very difficult choice.
The hotel has a wide range of dining options. The French restaurant Nouvelle Epoque has a 1.3-hectare private garden of the Okura Hotel outside the window. The Japanese restaurant Yamazato also has a traditional tea room. The Chinese restaurant Toh-Ka-Lin is a peach blossom forest, where guests can dine in blooming peach blossoms. The same cocktail as Bond in the Orchid Bar has been a best-seller for many years. The newly opened "Starlight" bar is located on the top floor, close to the high-altitude swimming pool.
