Hanoi or Ha Noi as it's also known, Tokyo, Thang Long, Luocheng, Jiaozhou, among other names, covers the northwest part of the Red River Delta in Vietnam. Situated on the right bank of the Red River at the source of Su Li and Red River. It is the capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, measuring 3 340 square kilometers. In 2019 there were 8.05 million people living in Hanoi. It has 10 counties comprising 1 city and 18 counties. The predominant language is Vietnamese. It is the center of politics, economy, culture, education, and is also a historic capital. It is one of the five central municipalities of Vietnam, being the commercial hub of Vietnam with some core industries including agriculture, textile processing, metallurgical smelting, building construction, and tourism. In the year 2019, it ranked 265th in the "Top 500 Global Cities".
