Because I had to rent a car at Lotte Auto House near the airport the next morning, I chose to stay at the Asia Hotel (Avia Hotel) in the new district of Jeju City on the first night of my free Trip to Jeju City. It only takes about 10 minutes to drive from the airport to the hotel, and there are many nearby stores. , there are many restaurants, convenient for eating and shopping.
Asia Hotel is located in the new district of Jeju City. The famous Grand Hyatt Jeju, Maison Glad Jeju, and Shilla Stay Jeju are all on the same road as Asia Hotel. The hotel is only 1-2 minutes' walk from Shilla Duty Free Shop, Lotte Supermarket and E-mart are within walking distance (8-12 minutes), and it is only 5-6 minutes' walk from the busiest pedestrian street.
The bus fare from the airport to Asia Hotel is 1,150 won. You can directly swipe your T-money card, get off at Maison Glad Hotel Station (메종글래드 제주), and walk for one minute. Because of the short distance, taking a taxi is not expensive, about 6,000 won (NT$150).
Asia Hotel is located on a slight slope, so if you enter the lobby from the main entrance, you have to walk down several stairs. If you have big luggage, you can walk a little further down the Yichuan River next to the hotel and enter through the side door, so you don't have to worry about carrying your luggage.
From the photos on the official website, you can see that outside the French doors is a staircase about half a floor high. The entrance on the other side of the counter is as high as the road. If you call a taxi, it is more convenient to get on and off at the side door. The hotel was only renovated in 2019 and looks quite new. When I checked in on the first day, I met a female staff member who looked very world-weary. Fortunately, the reception staff on the night shift and the second day were very friendly.
Asia Hotel room types are divided into 4 types: Superior Twin (23 square meters), Deluxe Twin/Double (26 square meters) and Deluxe Triple (30 square meters).
We stayed in a deluxe double room with a double bed and a single bed. The room was exactly the same as the official website. When I booked a room this time, I found that there are many double rooms with one king bed and one single bed in Korea. If you have children, it is more comfortable to stay in this kind of double room. There are two free bottles of water in the refrigerator. Due to environmental concerns, many Korean hotels do not provide disposable supplies such as toothpaste and toothbrushes, and Asia Hotel does not provide them either, only large cans of toiletries.
There is a bathtub in the bathroom for taking a bath, but there is no dry and wet separation. You have to be careful when taking a bath so as not to make the whole bathroom wet.
The breakfast time in the hotel is 6:30~9:00 (last admission time is 8:30). The price is 18,000 won for adults/15,000 won for children (under four years old are free). Guest discount is 5,000 won, and the price is 13,000 won for adults/10,000 won for children. If the room rate does not include breakfast, you can purchase breakfast at the counter in advance.
The dining place is on the second floor of the hotel, and the restaurant is very spacious. The meals basically include bread, cereal, yogurt, milk, salad, fruit, scrambled eggs, and bacon. There are also some hot foods and Korean-style soup, porridge, and kimchi. They are not exquisite, but they are delicious. Being full is not a problem.
Overall, Asia Hotel (Avia Hotel) has a convenient location, new hotel decoration, and clean and comfortable rooms (except for the lack of dry and wet separation in the bathroom). It is an affordable hotel worth recommending. |
