Although Jakarta is the largest city in Indonesia, most Tourists tend to ignore this city and fly directly to Bali or Surabaya. But if you transfer here or take a train, you can also use a day to visit Jakarta and experience this largest city in Southeast Asia.

First of all, most people will definitely land at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport. T3 is a newly built terminal that is very large and new, and T2 is an old terminal. They are connected by skytrain. After landing, you can take a train to the city, but I took a taxi for safety reasons because my flight was at night. I personally tested that new Gojek users only need 96k to get to Kota Tua.

☎️Phone card: It is recommended to use Telkomsel. The signal 📶 is not bad, but the Telkomsel at the airport is very expensive and not worth it. It is recommended to go directly to the business hall in the city and search for Grapari Telkomsel nearby on Google Maps (be sure to search for Grapari, otherwise you may be navigated to a small shop). I applied for 25GB for only 60k, which is relatively cost-effective.

🏧ATM: ATMs in Indonesia are a bit tricky, with a limit of 500k.

🚗Travel methods: There are many means of transportation in Jakarta, including trains, subways, BRT, etc. The most recommended way for tourists is to take a motorcycle taxi. The price of motorcycles here is relatively affordable and there is no traffic jam. There is a BRT in Jakarta. Bus No. 1 connects the old town of Kota tua, Independence Square, Grand Indonesia CBD, etc. It is very practical and can be taken, but you need to buy a card, a total of 50k, of which there is a balance of 10k. The subway MRT and train are relatively less practical.
Attractions:

1⃣️First of all, I recommend the old town of Kota tua. It is really tropical here, but it is relatively small. There are still many people singing in the square in the middle at night.

2⃣️You can check in at Independence Square. You need to pay for the ticket to enter. It seems that foreigners have to buy a card for the first time. Anyway, I spent a total of 50k at that time. There are some introductions to Indonesian history in it, and you can enjoy the city scenery of Jakarta on the stage.

3⃣️Istiklal Mosque: This is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the third largest mosque in the world🕌️. Visitors need to enter from Gate 5 opposite the Jakarta Church. Turn left and there is a tourist information center. There are guides to lead the tour for free, but you need to pay attention to the dress code. The whole thing is still very shocking.

4⃣️Jakarta Cathedral: It is just opposite the mosque. You can visit it together, but I heard that there are many motorcycle gangs in this area. Everyone should pay attention to protect their mobile phones📱.

5⃣️Malls: I only went to Grand Indonesia, which is very big and very easy to visit.

🍜Eat: I mainly ate a lot of roadside stalls in Jakarta, which are cheap and delicious. You can try it, but if you don’t want to eat roadside stalls, there are also many delicious foods in the mall. In fact, Jakarta’s urban construction facilities are still relatively backward, and there are many motorcycle gangs. Everyone must pay attention to safety.
