Air pollution is a chief environmental concern for Hanoi, Vietnam, especially in certain seasons of the year. A combination of industrial growth, vehicle emission, and agricultural burn-off creates high levels of air pollution in the city. This may contribute to the development of health problems among residents, especially the ones suffering from respiratory diseases. Therefore, it is better to keep a tab on local air quality reports in order to take respective precautions, such as wearing a mask and avoiding excessive outdoor activities, when air quality reaches levels of concern.
