Naoki Urasawa is my favorite manga artist since high school. The Tower of the Sun that appeared in 20th-century teenagers left a deep impression on me. Whether it was in the 1970s or now, the design of this building is quite unique. This time I set aside a day to take a train from the city to Expo Commemorative Park for about an hour. When I got off the station, I could see the Tower of the Sun from the window.
There was a peripheral store next to the station, which had more comprehensive items than inside the tower. Tickets You can buy it at the entrance. When you enter the park, you will see the huge Tower of the Sun. You can also buy tickets on-site to visit. I personally think it is worth it. It is really magical, including the architectural structure inside. You can also get the Chinese version. An introductory booklet to learn about the history of the building.
In addition to the Tower of the Sun, the Expo Commemorative Park is also worth visiting. It is not too small. There is also a National Museum of Ethnology and a Japanese garden area, as well as cafes and restaurants. Now is the season for enjoying autumn. For Tourists, this place may be relatively niche, but for locals, it may not be so. Markets are often held, and there are activities on most weekends. There will also be a Showa famous car show on the 30th of this month, for those who like cars. It’s also a great place to visit.
At sunset, sit on the Ferris wheel opposite and you can overlook the entire park and watch the sun set; also note that the park closes at 5:00 pm and entry is prohibited at 4:30.
