Amami Oshima｜An island 100 times more fun than Okinawa

I spent 4 days in Amami Oshima this time. Oshima is such a big island, I feel like I haven’t had enough. Amami is also quite close to Okinawa. I visited Okinawa a few years ago and I felt that Amami was more original and more spectacular. I’ll write some guides for everyone’s reference. It’s an island worth visiting.        On Day 1, after we got off the plane, a car from the car rental company came to pick us up and go to the car rental point. We rented the one with the dog logo (Picture 16) Amami Rutilator, which was quite cost-effective. Drive to have lunch - Amami special chicken rice. We ate the most famous local Minato chicken rice. The taste is okay. Then I went to take pictures at the Heart-Shaped Stone (Picture 5), and I needed a drone to take good-looking photos❤️. Stayed at an Airbnb in Yamato Village at night. The location is a bit remote, but it is very convenient for watching the sunset.        Day2 My friends went to see whales (it’s best to make a reservation in advance). Recently, there are so many whales in Amami Oshima, and you can 100% see them when you go out to sea! We didn’t even need to go out to the sea, we could see whales from the observation deck on the top of the mountain! Very pleasant surprise! !        On Day 3, I made a reservation for kayaking at the "Majura Tea House" in the morning. It is very cheap and fun. Each person has a kayak and can paddle in the woods. Don't miss it when going to Amami. We saw a beautiful sunset in the afternoon! ! The place where you can watch the sunset is called "Toen" and it is a famous local sunset viewing spot. If the sky is clear at night, there will be so many stars, it will be very shocking!        Day 4: In the morning, we went to see the scenery at Cape Koko, and we saw a lot of whales🐳! There is a cafe called "みしょらんcafe" with delicious food, because it is located on a hill with a stunning view. It is really enjoyable to have lunch there! After lunch, we returned the car and headed to the airport. If you go back to Tokyo, be sure to take the window seat in column A so you can see Mount Fuji and Tokyo Tower.        Here are a few tips for visiting Amami Oshima: 🟡Be sure to rent a car. Without a car, not only will it be difficult to Travel, but many attractions will also be inaccessible. 🟡If you have an aerial camera, be sure to bring it. Many of our beautiful photos were taken by DJI. 🟡Although there are many hotels and accommodations in the center of Amami, it is more convenient to stay in a village and watch the stars at night.
