City | The Chenghuang Temple of Shanghai was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty (1403-1424). | Visit the basic rituals of Taoism and Buddhism. Do not use Buddhist rituals to worship the Tao. [Note: The outer frame is the Chenghuang Temple area. Outside is the Yu Garden Mall (free). There is a Yu Garden on the Jiuqu Bridge. The Chenghuang Temple is located on Fangba Middle Road. There is a temporary parking spot on Fangba Middle Road. The subway goes to Yu Garden Station on 10/14, such as South No. 3 to Fangba Middle Road to the east. If you go out, you will see the big arch across the road. The left hand is the gate, and the ticket for Chenghuang Temple is 1.5 dollars. [Note: Taoist temples are generally south-north, and the south is the main gate] Don't step on the threshold (the same as Buddhism and Taoism) to enter.
The right side of Chenghuang Temple is not open, only the middle and left side, so you can enter the middle. [Note: Taoism has no special statement about men and women. It follows the natural law that the sun rises eastward, so most of them are right or east. [Note: The Chenghuang Temple is small. Although some Taoist temples are fixed in layout, some are not so rigid. After you get started, you can get three incense (free, directly received) [Note: The number of Taoist content is mainly based on the number of sticks or five sticks, three pillars of true incense and dharma realm, representing the three treasures of Taoism. The god of wealth can burn five incense, representing five roads to wealth, and three pillars can be used]
Then let's first look at the main hall (Fire Light Hall), light incense, incense burner, and the left and right halls as shown in the picture. The icon of Cihang Hall is incorrect. [Note: The order of worship is east, south, west, and north. Insert incense with your left hand and incense with your right hand, one after another, facing the main hall as an example. Show your heart] After entering the temple, like worshiping a god (Figure 3), there is a blessing paper in the hall (optional, willing to help people around you), and a coin exchange counter next to the drum. [Note: There are many worshipers in the temple, and the worshipers worship from the middle, then worship the East, and then worship the West.]
There are elderly people enshrined on both sides of the city hall, with a walkway in the middle. There is a red signature box next to the Chenghuang Temple (Figure 13). One of the things is signed, and a gift can be solved for 2 dollars. There are many statues in Taoist temples. They don't need to be worshipped by anyone. You can worship the corresponding gods as needed. There are several people who are often worshipped: Tai Sui Temple: corresponding to the God of Destiny seeking Shunxing Yue Lao Hall: Yue Lao (marriage), Medicine King (health), Car God (road safety) Cihang Temple: Eye mother-in-law and daughter-in-law (governing the eye area), Cihang Temple (safety), Tianhou Niangniang (Haihe) God of Wealth: Wenchang Emperor (named Li Lu), Guan Sheng (peace), God of Wealth (wealth and prosperity) Wenchang Hall: Wenchang Emperor.
