The Trip to Busan lasted for 5 days. On May 5, we departed from Busan to Ulsan to check in at the Pyeongsan Bookstore of former President Moon Jae-in! For other tips on the Busan trip, please see the previous notes. I hope it can be used as a reference for friends who are going to visit.
🍉 Background Tips
Pyeongsan Bookstore is located in Ulsan, a small city near Busan. It is said that President Moon goes to the store almost every day to shake hands and take photos with the public except on Mondays and special holidays. The specific time is generally around 11 am and 4 pm. If you live in Busan, it is recommended to go there in the morning. Ulsan also has Tongdosa Temple, which is known as the first temple in South Korea. It is not far from Pyeongsan Bookstore. After meeting President Moon in the morning, you can visit it in the afternoon.
🚃Transportation
🚅|Take KTX from Busan Station to Ulsan. There are many trains. Just go to the station and buy the ticket. The Journey takes about half an hour (I don’t remember clearly haha). I have to say that the KTX train is really like the one in "Train to Busan" hahahaha (there are pictures later). I imagined the scene of zombies suddenly rushing out of the bathroom and pretended to be very exciting.
🚕|After arriving at Ulsan Station, go directly to the door to take a taxi or book an Uber. The bug of taking a taxi is that the driver uncle in Ulsan is not as good at English as the driver uncle in Busan. In the end, we relied on giving him a photo of Pingshan Bookstore to explain the destination. The uncle was very enthusiastic and kept teaching us to say Pingshan Bookstore in Korean. I think it’s probably pronounced as peong sang ma er hahahaha.
📕Bookstore & Group Photo
🐈|The bookstore is not big. There are super cute dogs and cats with latte art at the door. You can have a cup of coffee. There is also the bookstore's magical cat. It is not afraid of people at all. There are also many photos of President Moon and cats on the wall.
📷|Before President Moon comes, bodyguards will come out first. At this time, just follow the instructions of the clerk to line up. It was drizzling when we went there. There were still quite a lot of people who came to see President Moon. They lined up around the bookstore. However, the time for each person to take a group photo was very fast. The staff was responsible for taking pictures. It took about 10 seconds for the next person to take the photos.
We took Moon Jae-in's autobiography, so when we went over, he said "Hello, thank you" happily, and then shook hands and took a group photo!
🌎Today's itinerary ends here. The next article recommends Busan small bars. Goodbye!
