I went to Hong Kong at the end of September and also went to Macau. I think Hong Kong is just average as a Travel destination, but a one-day Trip to Macau really made me linger~!!! It feels that going to Macau once is not enough, and a one-day trip is not enough. Next time I want to take a seven-day trip to Macau~~ ❤️
We set off from Hong Kong in the morning and took a boat from the Central Pier to the Taipa Pier in Macau. The whole Journey took one hour and the ticket price was about 170/person~ Because we only planned a one-day trip, our itinerary was very tight. When we arrived in Macau, we needed to complete three plans: lunch + going to the casino + dinner~(?)
After leaving the Taipa Pier, there was a free bus that could take us to various hotels. Our first stop was Morpheus Macau.
The Modpers Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Macau. It can be said that it has the best intelligent system among all the hotels. The designer of the Modpers Hotel building and the designer of the Nanjing Jumeirah Hotel building are both Zaha Hadid. It is said that it cost 6.5 billion to build. I think it is one of the more beautiful buildings in Macau. Compared with the magnificent and exaggerated feeling of the Venetian, the interior decoration of the Modpers Hotel is also very design-oriented. It is a classic check-in place for Internet celebrities in Macau~
The design concept of the Modperth Hotel is "City of the Future", so the interior decoration design of the hotel is also full of futuristic sense~
The place I want to go to most in Macau this time is the Pierre Herme Lounge in the Mopar Hotel. There are four Pierre Herme restaurants in the world, located in Tokyo, Seoul, Paris, and Macau, so we had our lunch and afternoon tea here~ In fact, you can also eat very good sandwiches and eggs benedict in Nanjing. This time I came here mainly for desserts~🍮
Almost every table ordered the exclusive gold foil chocolate and lychee rose in Macau. They need to be knocked open with a small wooden hammer before eating, which is very ritualistic. The gold foil chocolate is knocked open to reveal ice cream, chocolate and dried fruits. The taste is sweet but not greasy. The lychee rose is a raspberry-flavored ice cream dessert. I actually think the lychee rose is more delicious. The two boys present praised the two desserts.
The first meal I had from Hong Kong to Macau made me feel that the prices in Macau are really reasonable. The prices in Hong Kong are suffocating. The prices in Macau are not much different from those in Nanjing. The desserts at Pierre Herme seem to be only 140+. After eating dessert, I took the elevator directly to the 23rd floor. "Art Appreciation 23" has a giant sculpture of KAWS, which is also a "scenic spot" that everyone takes pictures of. There are only two exhibits on the entire 23rd floor, which are quite generous and beautiful. There were not many people when we went there, so we could take as many photos as we wanted.
After visiting the Mopar Hotel, we looked for a casino nearby to play. Because all the hotels and casinos in Macau are connected, we chose to cross the street to the Venetian Hotel. The Venetian is a more representative hotel in Macau. The decoration exudes luxury from the inside out, but in fact some of the internal facilities are already a bit old, and the blue sky and white clouds on the roof are like 50-cent special effects.
After entering the Venetian, I first looked for CASINO. This is the new word I learned in Macau. CASINO means casino. It was my first time in a casino. There were no sexy dealers, and the people dealing cards were all uncles and aunts.
It was pretty good in the casino. I had gone to other places to play before and left some foreign currency, which was all exchanged for chips in the casino. As newcomers to the casino, we chose a simpler way to play - Sic Bo. In fact, it is just three dice thrown to compare size, odds and evens, points, etc., and the odds are different for different bets. 🎲 I did win money after playing a round!
Sic Bo is relatively simple to play. We usually look at the historical data on the display screen of each table to see which table has more stable data. Basically, it is based on big/small, and then follow the big/small. In fact, the winning rate is quite high. Our principal is 1k Hong Kong dollars. After going around, we broke even and won 200 Hong Kong dollars. I exchanged Hong Kong dollars and went out to buy egg tarts!
Egg tarts are one of the symbols of Macau, and Andrew's Egg Tarts are the legendary "best egg tarts in the world". The queue at the Venetian is very long, but it is really delicious, much better than KFC's Portuguese egg tarts. The pastry is very crispy, the egg tart filling is not greasy, and the milky flavor is very strong~ With a cup of iced lemon tea/milk tea, the four of us only ate more than 100 yuan. I was very satisfied with this inexpensive afternoon tea ><
In addition to casinos and food, the duty-free shops at the Venetian are also very good to visit, but I didn't shop in Macau because I bought a lot in Hong Kong~
This time I came to Macau with two Shenzhen friends who brought us two Nanjing people together. After a full meal at the Venetian, they insisted on taking us to the famous Macau attraction, the Ruins of St. Paul's. I didn't plan to visit the attractions in Macau at first, but I came anyway~
The Ruins of St. Paul's in Macau is the remains of St. Paul's Church. "Sanba" is the Cantonese transliteration of "St. Paul". The church has experienced three fires and was rebuilt repeatedly until October 26, 1835. The last fire burned it down to the front wall of the church. This wall is named "Ruins of St. Paul's" because it is similar to the traditional Chinese archway.
Like the classics in mainland China, there are crowds of Tourists at the Ruins of St. Paul's. People are everywhere. A friend from Shenzhen said that you must buy souvenirs from the Ku Kee Bakery when you come to Macau. I didn't want souvenirs at first, mainly because I didn't want to carry things, but I saw that every tourist who appeared at the Ruins of St. Paul's was carrying Ku Kee souvenirs, so I followed the trend and bought some~
Kui Kee has been the sales champion in Macau for nine consecutive years. As of December 2009, it has a market share of 74.7% in the souvenir market. Almost everyone carries Kui Kee souvenirs when they take the boat back to Hong Kong. If you have friends who visit the Ruins of St. Paul's, you can also visit Sasa, Joyo, and Lush on the souvenir street. I also bought a lot of Lush in Hong Kong~
I didn't bring my own shampoo, shower gel or anything like that with me this time. I just bought ready-made ones from Lush. Time for dinner! This time, thanks to our friends from Shenzhen, we went to a very local restaurant in Macau. Otherwise, we might have just eaten at the hotel or on the roadside. The restaurant is called Xiong Yu Old Place Food. When we took a taxi, we told the driver that the old place was familiar to us, haha. We had to wait in line for a while before we got a seat at dinner time.
This restaurant is famous for its pork bone pot and salt and pepper mantis shrimp. It is a food stall. We ordered a salt and pepper pork bone pot. The bone soup is very delicious. The bone marrow in the bones needs to be sucked with a straw. We also ordered some beef to blanch in the pot, and a few more dishes. They are all delicious! I think the salt and pepper corn is particularly delicious. The corn is very fragrant.
It was my first time to eat salt and pepper pork bone pot. I couldn't forget it after eating it. After returning to Nanjing, I went to Xingji Pork Bone to continue ordering pork bone pot. I want to go to Macau next time. In fact, our one-day trip to Macau ended after dinner, but I think this day was super exciting. When I returned to Hong Kong and lay in the hotel, I was still thinking, "Ah~ I really want to eat pork bone pot." When I have money, I just want to go to Macau to gamble for 7 days and 7 nights. When I am tired, I will go to Pierre Herme for snacks, and when I am hungry, I will eat pork bone pot.
