Located in the middle of the west coast of Hokkaido, there is a beautiful island, Shakotan Peninsula, which is listed as one of the 52 heritage sites of Hokkaido. In the early days, it was not noticed due to inconvenient transportation, but it has gradually become well-known by Tourists in recent years. Cape Kamui introduced this time is one of its popular attractions.
When you come to Cape Kamui, you will be surprised to find that its entrance actually says "Women's Forbidden Land". Legend has it that this place was cursed by a woman who was unable to woo her love and eventually committed suicide by jumping into the sea. Any ship with a woman on board will sink if it passes through here, so this place was listed as "Women's Forbidden Land". But today, many years later, the curse has long been eliminated, so now both men and women can enter and exit freely.
After entering the entrance, you will find that there is a mountain road in front of you that is almost endless. It takes about 40 minutes to go back and forth. Blowing the sea breeze along the way, walking across the small iron bridge, looking at the Cape Kamui lighthouse, and when you reach the end and see the large expanse of blue that belongs to this place, you will find that everything is worth it!
