Honeymoon House, a coffee shop in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, where you can enjoy the sea and coffee

The third sea view cafe on this self-driving Tour of Jeju Island is Honeymoon House in Seogwipo. The cafe was originally located in the five-star Paradise Hotel. After the hotel closed, it was vacant for a long time. After part of the space was renovated, it was finally reopened as a cafe at the end of 2018.

If you have watched the Netflix series "Saints", you may find this photo familiar. Although the background of this drama is Suriname, South America, it was actually filmed in the Dominican Republic and Jeju Island.




At the end of the second episode, Kang In-gu (played by Ha Jung-woo) was taken to Jeon Yo-hwan's (played by Hwang Jung-min) mansion, and the entrance to the mansion was the original entrance to the Paradise Hotel.



The original hotel occupies a large area, and it takes a short walk from the entrance to the cafe.



It is quite comfortable to walk in the garden that looks like a botanical garden.




When you see the Honeymoon House sign, keep walking forward, through the corridor and up the stairs to reach the cafe.




Compared to the beautiful Mediterranean-style building, the interior of the cafe is a little simple.



There are many seats to choose from indoors and on the terrace. We came early so there weren't many customers.




Drinks are priced at ₩7,000~10,000 (cold drinks are ₩500 more expensive than hot drinks), desserts are priced at ₩2,000~12,000, and sandwiches and pizzas are available from 10:00~16:00.



This is a self-service restaurant. After ordering and paying at the self-service ordering machine, you can wait for the food to be ready before going to the counter to pick it up.






The cafe has a beautiful sea view, two observation decks and some places suitable for taking photos.









The black volcanic rocks look difficult to walk on, but many fishing enthusiasts still walk to the front of the rocks to fish.




Honeymoon House is located on Route 6 in Jeju Olle. If you walk west, you can reach the Sojeongbang Falls and Jeongbang Falls. After leaving the cafe, we followed the signs of the Olle Trail to the Sojeongbang Falls. If you continue walking, you can also reach Book Cafe《소라의 성》.




Although Xiaozhengfang Waterfall is not as spectacular as Zhengfang Waterfall, you can take photos of the waterfall up close, it is free of charge, and there are few tourists, so it is still worth a visit.




Although the food at the sea view cafe "Honeymoon House" is not as good as the other two sea view cafes, it has a large area, a garden, and a beautiful sea view. It is not an ordinary cafe at all. Instead, it is more like a tourist attraction. After drinking coffee, you can even walk along the coast.
