The Standard Hua Hin in Thailand, newly opened in 2021, is a five-star hotel near Hua Hin Beach. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, bar, and SPA. The most surprising thing in Hua Hin is its architectural appearance, which is the facade of the building and the facade of the corridor. It can shade and ventilate. The facade looks like fish scales with rounded corners, which is very cute.

The bricks in the room and toilet are all whole bricks. The ground leaks on one side, and there will be a triangle from the side, but the tiles are processed and cut to make the toilet look like a complete whole brick. The bathroom tiles are also filled with special colors, yellow bricks with yellow seams, white bricks with pink seams. The overall bathroom is fresh and relaxing, and the color matching reflects the "vacation feeling".

The breakfast dining area is divided into semi-outdoor and indoor areas. The semi-outdoor area is next to the swimming pool, the pool is next to the outdoor bar, and the bar is next to the beach. The whole layer is stacked, guiding the holidaymakers from the front accommodation area to the back all the way to the beach, so that every holidaymaker can experience the beach sunshine. This configuration is very surprising. Basically, you would think that all the rooms in the area will face the beach, but only placing the public facilities next to the beach gives a better experience. The way of guiding the movement line allows every Traveler to "walk" to the beach instead of "looking" at the beach.

After staying in Hua Hin, I studied the design concept. The main design concept is "creating a surprising Journey", which is indeed to guide holidaymakers step by step to the beach. The trees on the site are also original plants, and there are also maintenance planting areas. The massing is also planted in accordance with the existing plants, making the site a place of fun and emotional connection. The placement of the building conforms to the existing site to create an organic form.
