It takes 2.5 hours to drive from South Super hiway to Tanay. There are multiple ways to get there and you can check the route through Waze or Google Maps. Make sure to bring what you need and load the car with food and drinks so you don't have to stop. This place is spectacular, make sure to arrive early and have tents, BBQ areas and perfect parking for the car. This is my third time here and BBQ is always on our list. The weather in December can be miserable, foggy, wet and slippery, but the weather didn't stop our plans... The drive is fun because of the people with you.
They don't have enough staff to assist you so it's better to have a driver to help you fix or set up the tent, grill, etc. Make a list of what you need to bring for BBQ, camping or overnight stay. If you have your own tent then make sure how big it is or how many people it can accommodate. More covers, tents or umbrellas are needed during the rainy season. Bring enough drinks, ice and charcoal. The price of car tents is 400-700 pesos plus the entrance fee per person.
Overnight costs vary, camping costs 700-1200 pesos per person. They don't answer the phone, so it's best to arrive early to grab a spot. This is one of the best places for camping. Toilets are shared, unless you rent a house with a toilet and bathroom. If you do, learn to be flexible and adjust to the circumstances. That's camping!
