The Haflington Bar is the only bar in Hanoi that is in the top 100 in Asia. The bar has two floors, and the entrance is hard to find. It is located at a plain street corner. There will be bar staff to guide you in. You will pass through the first floor, which is similar to the old and dilapidated small houses in Shanghai, and then you will enter the bar on the second floor.
A bar that focuses on storytelling. The wine list has many pages of stories about the bar, the inspiration of the seasonal wine list concept, etc. At the same time, the bar counter is also made into a glass display case like a museum, which displays many fossils. There are also biological specimens on the bar counter. I don’t know if they are real or not.
There is almost no trace of pre-mixed cocktails on the special cocktail list, which is very refreshing. There are 3-4 cocktails that use Green Chartreuse. I like this nouveau riche main tune, and I drink it directly. I don’t know the main tune of Vietnam. Bartenders who are not familiar with it in China are embarrassed to order the Last Word.
Moreover, I am used to drinking pre-mixed cocktails in Shanghai. When I came here, I saw the bartenders carefully taking out the wine bottle by bottle and making it in the traditional way. I was actually a little moved. The quality of cocktails is absolutely online. There is no need to doubt the technology of a bar that can be ranked in the top 100 in Asia. The taste combination of all the drinks is great. If you have to find fault, the overall taste of the special cocktail list is heavy. The little sweet water warriors suggest communicating directly with the bartender. For example, if I don’t know what to drink, the bartender combines the special Florist with Americano, and the bitter combination of sherry, elderberry and Campari is super good. I was immediately attracted by it. Classic or directly Paper Plane family, can’t find any faults. The bartender said that few people in Vietnam like to make paper planes with Montenero amaro, and more people like to drink Fernet.
