Asahidake → Kurodake, the first volcano hike, a different landscape and experience. 17 kilometers, a total climb of 1,600 meters, 6 hours and 50 minutes. The track is on P14, using AllTrails.
There are very few people hiking on the road, and there is no signal. The off-line track requires climbing to the top of Asahidake. The wind is huge (the weather station shows level 8), and there are no guardrails on the steep slope. It is a bit difficult to climb with a load. You have to stand on the rocks every few steps. Lie down for a while to avoid the wind. After a quick-drying jacket and trekking poles are required, most Tourists return to the original route and go down the mountain. Those who cross to Kurodake take another route. There are still about 4/5 of the way without any bunkers.
The scenery when they reach Mamiya Peak is great. You can overlook the crater, and the wind has subsided. Finally, the descent from the top of Kurodake is all steep. Carrying 15 kilograms is really not friendly to the knees, and knee pads are also necessary. At present, there is still golden color at the bottom of the mountain, but not many red leaves can be seen, and some places have begun to become bald. Autumn viewing is now at the end. Let’s go to Otaru today to see what it will be like.

I feel that the bus is not much slower than JR, but it is half the price. I stayed at K's house and Sounkyo hostel in Asahidake and Kurodake Sounkyo respectively. , Japan’s youth hostels are among the cleanest among all the countries I have visited.
