Life is about eating and drinking. I used to Travel just for fun, but now I just want to eat. Especially when I go to Hokkaido, Japan's food hub, I can't wait to eat eight meals a day and can't stop eating. Come to Neon Post Autumn Fat in October and share the delicious food and drink with you. I have always felt that I can’t take away the most delicious food, so I’m here and just eat it to the end.
Otaru Otaru
After landing at New Chitose Airport on September 28, I took JR directly to Otaru. Looking at it this way, every time we go to Neon, we have a regular route. We first go to small places to relax, such as Nara in Kansai, Yufuin in Kyushu, Miyajima in Hiroshima, and Otaru in Hokkaido, and then return to the big cities to shop and eat. , the advantage of this is that you don’t have to drag heavy luggage to a small town first, and then return to a big city to easily go to the airport.
The uneaten Umiki Bento and Tokaiya
It was almost 8pm when we checked into the Dormy Inn Otaru. The original plan had two choices, one was to eat the Kai no Kyou bento, which is ranked 6th among the top ten most popular bento boxes in Japanese stations and is sold at the Shikisaikan supermarket in Otaru Station; the other was to eat at Tokaiya in the back street of the hotel. It is said that It is the best grilled barbecued pork ramen in Otaru.
Haizhihui Bento
Tokai Family
As a result, the bento was sold out by the evening (the picture was taken on the day I left Otaru), Tokai Family It was closed... I went early the next day and it was still closed. This is a pity that I didn’t taste it in Otaru. What I can’t get will always make a commotion. I hope someone can go to Otaru and have the chance to taste it.
So that night I bought pudding from the old Otaru restaurant Amato and Morinaga in the supermarket, and ate the free ramen provided by the hotel in the evening. Pudding is really a must-eat every time I come to Neon. You can choose the right one based on your intuition based on the brand, and the Hokkaido one is especially delicious.

Official the next day Start your Journey of shopping and eating in Otaru. The importance of breakfast has also been mentioned in previous articles. Eating well in the morning not only brings a good mood for the day, but is also an important start to ensure physical strength. Breakfast in the hotel has become a must. Domi's breakfast is still great. I had a good meal at the one at Kyoto Station before.
Takahashi Ranch yogurt + Otaru and three pots of candy
It snows when others come to Otaru, but it rains when we come to Otaru. Even so, it doesn’t matter. Choose to take the bus. Otaru is not big, so you can reach the canal in about ten minutes by walking along Chuo-dori Street and admiring the scenery along the way. There are many good things in the sightseeing area of Canal Square.
Takahashi Ranch yogurt, which has won the gold medal for two consecutive years, is a must-try. The Otaru and Sanbon sweets that ranked first that month are square snacks that are sweetened with traditional Japanese sugar and Sanbon and are full of custard flavor. After I took them home and tasted them, I found they were so delicious that I regretted buying less.
Seishui Tempura + Wakaji
After visiting Otaru After entering the Canal Hall of the Comprehensive Museum, we went to Chuba Trail for lunch. Debakoji has more than 20 Otaru delicacies of all kinds. One group couldn’t eat raw food, so they chose this Ishimizu tempura shop, which specializes in seafood tempura. The shop is very small, with only eight seats. The diners sit around the shop owner, an uncle with a cool hairstyle, who is frying the food in the middle.
Seishui Tempura Shop
The tempura tastes very good, the ingredients are very fresh, the shrimp is tender and elastic, and the fish is also good After eating, the pumpkin, eggplant and maitake mushrooms taste fuller after being fried, the sauce is also very special, the rice is perfect, and most importantly, it does not feel greasy. This meal is very satisfying and not expensive.
I actually ate Wakaji, a specialty of Otaru, on my third day in Otaru. When I came out of Ishimizu at noon that day, I saw the takeout shop of Wakaji next door. The original plan was to eat at the main restaurant near Otaru Station, but when I thought of our restaurant The portion of the set meal was too big and I couldn’t finish it (the food portions in Hokkaido are really larger than other places in Japan), so I bought takeout on the third day. The taste is different from most fried chicken. The chicken is tender, juicy and not oily. Chicken lovers should not miss it when visiting Otaru.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Rongzi Fish Cake< /span>
After eating stone water, we walked towards Sakai Town. What we were looking for on the way was Sakae fish cake! The factory store is very big, and the bus stops right here. To be honest, who grew up by the sea has never eaten fish cakes, but when you eat the word "Rong", you will know that the fish cakes you have eaten before are all fake fish cakes.
Rongzi Fish Cake Factory Store
There are so many varieties and large portions that it is impossible to taste them all in one go. Needless to say how delicious it is Yes, action means everything. During the three days in Otaru, we went to the factory store twice and ate N fish cakes and fish cake burgers. The store was large, with dining tables and free hot tea. When I arrived in Sapporo, I discovered that there is also a Sakae fish cake shop on the basement floor of Daimaru Department Store in Sapporo Station, so I bought some to eat. There is also a store at New Chitose Airport... It is indeed the light of Otaru, so beautiful!

Hanahata Ranch+LeTAO+ Liuhuatei + Beiguolou
After eating fish cakes, we continued walking forward. It didn’t take long before I saw the Hanahata Ranch directly-operated store across the road, the Hanahata Ranch in Tokachi! Yes, the guide is about eating everything mentioned in Tokachi, which is delicious. I quickly crossed the street and bought ice cream from Hanabata Ranch. Have you ever heard the cry of giant panda Jinhu eating carrots? That's what we called the ice cream when we ate it.
Ice cream at Hanabata Ranch
Walking back to the road, there are all kinds of Kitaichi Glass restaurants. I thought: Fortunately it is not a whole street. They sell food, otherwise they have to eat and lie down. Before I could finish thinking about it, I came across the LeTAO store, and then around the corner were Rokkatei and Beiguorou, both of which are well-known dessert shops in Otaru. I prefer LeTAO and Rokkatei to Beiguolou. These stores all depend on personal taste. You can try them out and buy them after trying them. The snacks can be used as good souvenirs, and you can also buy them at the airport. However, some stores with labels indicating that they are not available at airport stores. One more recommendation: After trying so many, I still think Rokkatei’s butter rum sandwich biscuits are the best.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Triangle Market Takiba Cafeteria
After a day of shopping in Otaru, I took the bus back to Otaru Station in the afternoon. While the Triangle Market was open, I arranged to have dinner at the Takiha Canteen in the market. Triangle Market is a famous seafood market in Otaru. It is not big. There were very few people when we went there, but there was still a queue at Takiha Restaurant. After waiting for about ten minutes, we were seated. The sea urchin rice that I have been longing for finally came into my mouth. The first bite was absolutely amazing. The two kinds of sea urchins, the orange ones are more delicious and super fresh. Feeling satisfied and full of energy, I rushed up to Mount Tengu in the evening and was almost blown away by the strong wind.
Kangtianya+Amato Otaruunga Shop
Compared to big cities, I really prefer the small towns in Japan. We originally planned to go back to Sapporo from Otaru on the third day of our arrival in Hokkaido, but we really couldn't bear to leave, so we stayed in Otaru for most of the day. When I took the bus and passed the Canal Bus Terminal on the second day, I remembered that Kuwataya and Amato had not checked in yet, so I went straight to the bus terminal on the third day.
Wang Tianwu
Kuwataya and Amato are both time-honored brands in Otaru. Kuwataya's traditional confectionery comes in nine flavors including bean paste, chocolate, cream, matcha, raw caramel bean paste, and camembert cheese, which can be found in a box. The outer skin is thin but firm, and the filling is sweet but not greasy. The red adzuki beans are from Tokachi and are worth trying.
Amato Otaruunga Shop
Amato is a dessert shop that has been around since the Showa era in Japan. I ordered the oldest one, red bean and glutinous rice fruit ice cream. Everything related to milk in Hokkaido will not disappoint you. The milk tastes rich and moist, and the red beans and glutinous rice fruits go well together. After eating, teacher Mao Amin’s song rang in my heart: Life is not in vain, the colorful clouds chase after the wind~
Sapporo Sapporo
In the afternoon of the third day, we returned to Sapporo from Otaru . On the day before the old Hokkaido Government Office building closed for renovations, I visited the red brick building. I also heard the 5 o’clock bell of the Sapporo Clock Tower, which felt quite complete. Dinner is arranged at Tanukikoji 2-chome Ebishu.
Original Miso Miso Ebisu
Come and try this lobster ramen. It will be served at 6pm in the evening, and the special price is limited to 10 servings. Like other ramen restaurants, you need to buy meal tickets from the vending machine, and then wait for the lobster noodles to appear. We sat at the bar and watched the chef making ramen quickly.
The portion is too solid, and a lot of bean sprouts are put on top to make it look concave. I have to say that the soup is quite thick. It is made from shrimps, that is, Ebina. It is slightly spicy. The noodles are thick and chewy. The Vietnamese rolls on top are fresh and delicious. The barbecued pork is especially soft and tasty. The so-called lobster is actually a gimmick. Half a lobster shell is used as decoration, and there is no meat. The price is cheap, only 880 yen, which is a great value. This is the only time I have eaten in Japan. It’s not that it’s not delicious, it’s just too much.
Breakfast at JR Sapporo Nikko
Before I went there, I heard that the breakfast at Sapporo Nikko was delicious. There were many people staying there, including many Chinese. You have to wait in line to have breakfast. There are two options: buffet and Japanese breakfast. It was really a shadow of the Japanese breakfast, so I chose the Western buffet both mornings. To be fair, the taste is good, there are many kinds to choose from, the tomato juice is wonderful, the soup curry tastes good, and the pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin puree are delicious. You can also eat while overlooking the morning scenery of Sapporo.
Sapporo Beer Museum
On our second day in Sapporo, we Went to Sapporo Beer Museum. Highly recommended to anyone who loves beer, it’s great. You can get there by taking 188 or East 63 at bus station 2 at the Sapporo Station North Square. 188 stops nearby, but there are few trains. Admission is free, and while you’re learning about the history of beer, you can also drink Sapporo beer. The items in the gift shop are exquisite and the experience is great.
Tokachi Dolphin Donburi
There are many people in big cities, so we will eat at different times. We choose Tokachi Tonbu Don on the 6th floor of STELLAR PLACE department store in Sapporo Station for lunch and dinner without having to queue. This is a must-eat roast pork rice when in Sapporo!
It’s delicious and not expensive. The portions are optional and are determined according to the food intake, which is very considerate. The meat comes out from the edge of the bowl, and the roasted pork is full of charred aroma. You can't taste the smell of pork at all. The meat is just right in softness and hardness, and the barbecue sauce tastes great. Eat one bowl to the end and have endless aftertaste.
Hokkaido University Elm Restaurant
On the third day in Sapporo, we went to Hokkaido University. The campus is so beautiful, the lotus flowers in Ono Pond, and the central lawn are flat. With people taking a rest, the Clark Statue and the yellow ginkgo avenue, museums, libraries and teaching buildings make every place feel comfortable.
Ono Pond
Central Lawn
The only thing that makes people feel distressed is the student cafeteria. I planned to go to the cafeteria for lunch, but found that the variety was pitiful and could not be compared with domestic university cafeterias. There was no way we could You can only eat in the faculty cafeteria next to the student central cafeteria. I chose curry and cheese baked rice, which was quite satisfactory. If you are not hungry, I suggest you not eat on campus and go back to Sapporo Station, where more delicious food is waiting for you.
Elm Tree Restaurant
Niu Zen
Never been in Japan After eating sukiyaki and shabu shabu, I chose Niu Chan to eat the double hot pot. The location is not easy to find. I went there during dinner time and there were not many people. The people at the next table were also Chinese. There is a buffet (self-service), but luckily I didn’t choose it. The two people who ordered a single meal were very full.
The beef tastes good. I prefer sukiyaki pot to shabu shabu. The bottom of the pot has a stronger taste. It is sweet and salty, and the meat and vegetables are more delicious. . The white wine is delicious. Dabao feels that hot pot and noodles are better than China anywhere in the world, so he just wants to try them once.
Milk + yogurt
Dairy products are a must-try when visiting Hokkaido , you can pay attention to one detail when choosing: 100% fresh milk will have a small notch on the top of the package (see picture), but other milk drinks or processed milk such as low-fat milk will not.
Among the fresh milk that Sapporo drinks, the best is from Tokachi, and I have no choice but to buy milk from Ebetsu Town Village Farm. The yogurt from Bocca is delicious, and the one from Iwaizumi is also good. There are no pitfalls when drinking milk in Hokkaido. The only difference is whether it tastes good or tastes particularly good.
Hoshino Tomamu
After leaving Sapporo, I took JR to Tomamu. There are about 20 restaurants in Hoshino Tomamu Resort, some of which require reservation in advance. Before going, we selected a few of the ones we wanted to eat on the official website and made a reservation for one.
CAMARO STEAK DINER
We ate at this roast beef restaurant the night we arrived in Tomamu. There is no need to make a reservation in advance. There are waiters who can speak Chinese. Based on the recommendation, we ordered the set meal of Hokkaido beef and filet mignon.
This restaurant is not cheap, but when the beef is eaten in your mouth, it is still worth it. The beef comes out medium-rare, and you can grill it on the baking sheet to the appropriate doneness according to your personal taste. Hokkaido beef is more delicious, and it still has the same word: melts in your mouth. Checkout can be done via WeChat payment.
Forest Restaurant
Reservation Breakfast coupons are included and can be used at any restaurant that provides breakfast. The next morning, we went to the forest restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant is very big and there are many Chinese people. There is porridge in the buffet breakfast. I guess it is prepared for Chinese people. Japanese people do not have the habit of drinking porridge for breakfast. As there are more Chinese people, the dining experience will naturally deteriorate, but the food is okay.
Paysage
The reason for the rain, the second in Tomamu The sky didn't look like a sea of clouds, and I couldn't walk much outdoors. I could only walk along the promenade and enjoy myself. It was a very leisurely day, and I experienced a real vacation.
We chose this restaurant for lunch. Paysage needs to be booked in advance. It happens to be on the 32nd floor of the south building of Risonare where we live. . It is quiet and quiet with few people, and the dining environment is good. You can enjoy the scenery while eating. Beef burgers, seafood pasta, parfait, and free coffee after the meal. Payment can be made via WeChat and Alipay.
It tasted pretty good, so I made a reservation to have breakfast here on the third day. Breakfast has fixed portions, bread and drinks are self-service. Special mention should be made for the breakfast bread at this restaurant. It has a crispy crust and is so delicious that I forgot to take a photo. Come to Tomamu, if you want a restaurant with a good dining environment, choose this.
Bocca Balloon Pudding + Xiaolin Ranch Milk + Milk Sauce
Risonare1 There are also many good things hidden in the shopping store on the first floor. Bocca balloon pudding, Kobayashi Ranch milk, Iwamizawa's rum milk sauce, Machimura Farm's milk sauce, and Furano's cantaloupe sauce are all worth recommending. Milk sauce is a dairy product that can be taken away. I buy it every time I come to Neon.
New Chitose Airport New Chitose
Finally It's very easy to go shopping when you get to New Chitose Airport. Not only can you buy all kinds of good things from Hokkaido, but you can also buy Doraemon Sky Park and Hello Kitty Happy. Flight and Royce Chocolate World, you can also collect stamps at the airport. We reserved half a day but it was not enough. If you want to visit, be sure to plan ahead.
Also:
1. The Tokachi store on the second floor of the airport is worth visiting. You must eat ice cream and drink yogurt;
2. Celebrity pork bowl - this roast pork rice bowl If it doesn’t work after you try it, pass it;
3. Royce has Hokkaido-limited flavors at New Chitose Airport. You can’t buy it at non-Hokkaido airports. I was too pressed for time and didn’t even have time to take pictures. If you love food, remember to buy it.
There are many places worth eating in Hokkaido,
I only saw the tip of the iceberg this time.
May we all have a good appetite and a good mood,
satisfy our appetites and be grateful.
Food is hard to come by,
just like the people around you who share the meal,
should be cherished.
