On this Trip to Singapore, I had a late flight and early return, and I was walking around every day, so I didn’t want to spend too much on accommodation. Fortunately, I finally booked a very cheap accommodation for two nights, so I could stay in a more expensive hotel for one night, which is the Holiday that I would like to introduce to you now. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) originally had InterContinental Singapore, Crowne Plaza and two Holiday Inn hotels in Singapore (Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium by the river and Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City along Orchard Road). Centre). Due to the rapid development of the Southeast Asian market, the Group introduced the relatively young and concise Holiday Inn Express brand. In July last year and in March this year, two Holiday Inn Express Hotels were opened on Orchard Road and Clark Quay respectively.

Because I like staying in new hotels, I stayed in Singapore in February at the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road, which had just opened a few months ago. The hotel is located between NS22 Orchard and NS23 Somerset on the MRT red line. It takes about 6 to 8 minutes to walk to the MRT. time. (It seems a little closer to Somerset station)

The hotel is located next to Orchard Road, just a minute's walk from Bideford Road next to GUCCI. It's a quiet location amidst the bustle.



Walking out of the alley on the other side of the hotel is the Thai chain Robinson department store. Along the way, there are not only flagship stores of various brands to browse, but also the ION Orchard Shopping Center or the Somerset MRT Station, which are directly connected to the Orchard MRT Station. The 313@Somerset shopping mall is also not far away, and shopping and dining are quite convenient.



The hotel has a simple design, with bright white decoration and some orange furniture embellishments, making it feel young and lively. Although it does not have facilities such as gyms, swimming pools, restaurants, etc. as in ordinary hotels, it is enough for Tourists who only want to stay.



There are Chinese-speaking service staff at the counter, the check-in procedure is quick, and the service attitude is also very good.



There is free WIFI in public spaces and rooms, which is very fast, and there are computers available in the lobby. "The Great Room" behind the counter only provides breakfast service and is used as a seating area at other times.





In addition to the public areas on the first floor, the hotel also has vending machines, ice machines, and laundry rooms (washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment) for guests to use. The hotel has a total of 221 rooms, all with one bed or two small beds. There are also rooms designed for people with disabilities. As soon as you enter the door, there is a wardrobe on one side, a bathroom on the other, and the sleeping area further inside.






The wardrobe is quite large. It contains flashlights, slippers, full-length mirrors, electronic safes, and a refrigerator that is rarely found in wardrobes. The bathroom space is not large, but it does not feel cramped when used. There are bath towels, washcloths, small towels, hair dryers, toothbrushes and general supplies. Perhaps to make the space look larger, the shower door and the bathroom door are shared. From the photo below, you can see that there is no other door in the bathroom. The room has nearly 6 square meters (19m²) of space, which is quite large in Singapore. The queen size bed is very comfortable and comes with two different types of pillows, soft and hard.



The TV is a 40-inch LCD TV. There is a desk and dressing table next to it. The mesh and breathable computer chair looks quite good. Unfortunately, I stayed in the room for too short a time and did not have time to make full use of this area.



There is a kettle, tea bags, coffee, and two free bottles of mineral water on the table. The lounge chair in the corner of the room is quite comfortable and makes people want to sit there and read a book or play with an iPad. There is an iPod alarm clock speaker beside the bed, which can play your favorite music and charge it at the same time.





The hotel provides free breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 in the morning. Although the variety is not rich, it includes bread, toast, cereal slices, salad, fruit, juice, milk, and some hot food, such as fried noodles, Porridge, scrambled eggs, etc., there is no problem if you are full. If there are too many people eating breakfast, or you go to bed too late, there is also a "Grab & Go" service. There are paper boxes next to the coffee machine, and you can take away coffee, tea, fruit, and bread.




Generally speaking, hotel prices on Orchard Road are relatively high. If you stay at the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road, you can go shopping and dine. It is not far from two MRT stations and the surrounding environment is better than Chinatown and Little India. In addition to the new hotel, moderately sized rooms, and free breakfast, the price of staying here is quite good at around NT$5,000.
