Phraya Nakhon Cave is located in Sam Roi Yot National Park. There is a natural cenote in the center of the karst cave. The sunlight shines directly into the central temple through the dome cave. It is the highest temple in Thailand. It is located in Sam Roi Yot National Park, 50 kilometers away from Hua Hin. It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Hua Hin Marriott. I chartered a car at the hotel front desk. I chartered an SUV for 1,800 baht round Trip. The driver will wait there. There is basically no time limit. You can return after playing.
The car drove to the gate of the scenic spot and waited in the parking lot. I bought tickets (200 baht per person) and boat tickets (400 baht per boat) at the gate. There are many kinds of boat tickets. Some can charter boats to visit the surrounding islands. We chose the most basic shuttle back and forth to reach the nearest beach of Phraya Nakhon Cave. The boat ride is 10-15 minutes. To board the boat, you need to wade a short distance from the beach. The water is as deep as your calf. It is more convenient to wear slippers and shorts, but you must wear sneakers when climbing the mountain, so be sure to prepare two pairs of shoes. It is best to prepare a disposable towel for wiping your feet and change into sneakers after reaching the beach.
The toilets at the door are all charged. It is recommended that after entering the scenic area, there will be free toilets on the beach after taking the boat. There is also a restaurant on the beach. You need to climb the mountain from the beach. My mother-in-law has inconvenience in her legs and feet. She can order a drink in the restaurant and sit and wait for us to go down the mountain. When we went down the mountain, we were too hungry and had a meal in the restaurant before returning. The price was a little more expensive than outside, but it was not outrageous. The taste was okay. After all, it was in the scenic area, so we couldn't expect too much.
After arriving at the beach, we first crossed a small forest and started climbing the mountain. There were stairs. Because the whole mountain is a karst landform, it is relatively steep. It takes about 1 hour to climb into the cave. My son is 3 and a half years old and he went back and forth by himself. When you reach the entrance of the cave, you need to go down the stairs first. The stairs are steeper, so be careful under your feet. It's very cool in the cave. You can take photos, rest and have fun and then return the same way. The online guides all recommend arriving at the cave at 10-11 o'clock, when the sun will be the best. Because we couldn't get up that early with the kids, we arrived at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon, and the sun in the cave was also good.
