Phuket Travel guide. Going to the island, preventing theft, exchanging Thai baht, visiting the night market. Do you like this kind of travel?
1. Be sure to prepare in advance to exchange Thai baht cash. Not all bank branches can exchange. You must first confirm whether the branch has Thai baht, and then make an appointment for the exchange time. In China, ICBC has a higher exchange rate, basically above 5.02, and the exchange rate is stable and the handling fee is low.
2. Don't show off your wealth in Phuket. It is recommended to buy a waterproof and anti-theft waist bag. It is actually quite unsafe to leave cash, passports, etc. in the hotel. Even the hotel's safe may reset the password. Domestic friends have repeatedly lost cash here.
3. There are so many night markets in Phuket: the Sunday night market, naka night market, frog night market, central night market, and Merlin night market in Phuket Old Street are all very lively. Especially the live band performance in Phuket Old Street Night Market is definitely not to be missed. However, eating less is not necessarily hygienic.
4. Don't touch marine life at will when diving. The marine law in Thailand is super strict. Catching fish, starfish, and corals in the sea is prohibited. If you are not careful, you will easily end up in the police station. Some people also say that they will catch them, take a photo and then release them, which is absolutely not allowed.
5. Going to Phi Phi Island and Emperor Island is great. As long as the weather is good, you can snorkel and see the glass-like transparent water. However, Similan is currently closed. It is only open from mid-October to mid-May of the following year. Moreover, the Journey is very long and it takes 4 hours to go back and forth.
6. For friends who plan to join a Tour group, it is recommended to choose a qualified and regular travel agency. Otherwise, if you are unfamiliar with the place and they don’t care about you, it is easy to get into trouble. I signed up for a small tour group for 6 days and 5 nights and spent 300 US dollars. It is a bit expensive, but there are few people and it is very relaxing and I have a good time.
7. Don’t bring durian (strong smell) and mangosteen into the hotel to eat, otherwise you will be fined.
8. Massages over 1,000 baht are a waste of money. Prices here are very cheap. Generally, traditional Thai massages cost 300-400 baht per hour, which is only about 60-70 yuan in RMB. When you are tired, you can just find a small shop on the roadside to relax. There is no need to take a taxi to any popular shop.
9. Phuket really has a lot of unique cliff coffee shops, the scenery is so beautiful, especially suitable for taking photos and checking in. Among them, laem sai is the most popular, but there are also a lot of people. There are so many people that you have to queue in the afternoon; On the Rock is closest to Karon Beach; On the hill is facing Karon Beach and has the best view.
10. It is recommended to choose the three major beaches for accommodation, which are convenient for transportation and close to the beach. It is not recommended to choose Phuket Town. It feels that this place is just a place to take photos and check in. Although the dopamine town is very photogenic, the hotels here are really old and even have a damp and moldy smell.
