I stayed in the Philippines for 11 days. I can summarize it in one sentence: it was fun, but the food, accommodation and transportation were not very good. I will give the reasons below, hoping to help friends who are hesitant about whether to go to the Philippines. Our total itinerary is Guangzhou flight-Manila-(plane)-Boer-(boat)-Oslob in Cebu-(bus)-Mobo in Cebu-(bus,)-Cebu City-flight to Hong Kong.

This Trip has a very unique experience, which is unique to the Philippines (such as watching tarsiers in Bohol) and is also the most cost-effective in the Philippines. Watching whale sharks in Oslob is only $15 per person, 100% you can see whale sharks, swim with them and take life photos; watching sardine storms in Mobo is directly free, and you can watch it anytime, anywhere. In addition, the island beaches in the Philippines are also very suitable for watching in photos, with sunrise and sunset, jelly sea and long tail beach, as well as vine diving and stream diving, waterfall lake swimming, which is exciting, fun and cheap.

The second is the food part. I personally call it a food desert. The best dish is actually the Thai food next door. The taste here is very salty. As long as a dish has salt, it will be salty to the point of exploding. The restaurants recommended by Xiao Hongshu are not immune. Barbecue is not recommended either. It is sweet and easy to burn. Don't ask me how I know, just ask the stray dogs on the island if it tastes good.

The third is the accommodation part. In places like Bohol and Mobo, rich people must stay in expensive places! Resort hotels starting at 800 or 900 yuan will be more comfortable. The small hotels we stayed in for 200 or 300 yuan can be summarized in three words as "uninhabitable". Specifically, the problems include narrow rooms, average sanitary conditions, noisy air conditioners, no slippers and toiletries, and occasional water and electricity outages without hot water.

The fourth is the Tourism part. The island has poor traffic safety awareness (traffic lights are often operated by people holding red or green flags, drivers do not wear seat belts, and long-distance buses may be packed with people when there are no seats). Almost all roads are one-way streets (you can only drive very slowly and traffic jams are prone to occur). It takes three hours to walk 60 kilometers. You can't use Grab on the island, so you need to have super bargaining power to take a tutu, taxi or rent a black car. Sometimes, after all the negotiations, the difference is only a dozen or tens of dollars. It's okay to accept a high price, but it's annoying to be blackmailed without bargaining.

In short, the Travel part is a five-star recommendation. Whether it's seeing the scenery, looking for excitement, or realizing life, the photos or videos are good. There is nothing to recommend about food, accommodation and transportation, and it is annoying to keep bargaining to prevent being cheated. We are not the kind of picky people, but we can definitely make do, so there is no problem, we will go to other places in the Philippines in the future. But for friends who can't make do, it is strongly not recommended. Don't come, really don't come, it's better and safer to go to Thailand and Malaysia next door.
