A few nights before this maple viewing Trip, we stayed at Hotel Gracery Seoul near Seoul City Hall Station. We originally planned to leave our big suitcases there, Travel light to Nami Island for one night, and then return to Seoul. Since we couldn't book a hotel in Nami Island, we changed our plan to take a day trip. At this time, the room rate of Hotel Gracery Seoul had risen a lot, so we had to look for a cheaper hotel nearby, and finally chose Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall.

Convenient transportation, 3 minutes away from City Hall Station

Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall has a good transportation location, and is within walking distance to Myeongdong, Namdaemun, and Deoksu Palace. The nearest subway station is "City Hall Station" where Line 1 and Line 2 intersect, and it is only a 3-minute walk from Exit 7. If you have large luggage, you can take Exit 1 with an escalator and only cross the street, which is not far away.

The alley next to the hotel is Bukchang-dong Food Street, which has seafood stalls, barbecues, and bars. The famous Seguang Beef Intestine (세광양대창시청점) and 화포식당 BBQ are also here.

The Travelodge Hotel Myeongdong City Hall belongs to the Travelodge Asia hotel group operated by a Singapore company. It has hotels in Seoul City Hall, Euljiro and Dongdaemun.

The design of the lobby is simple and modern. There are two public computers available for use, and a luggage scale is thoughtfully placed.

The room we stayed in today had an open wardrobe as soon as we entered the door, and there was another open wardrobe as we walked in. There was a lot of space for storing things.

The twin room has a space of 25 square meters, which is not small for a hotel in the center of Seoul. You can easily open two suitcases. There is a safe and non-disposable slippers in the drawer. There are universal sockets and USB sockets next to the bed, making it very convenient to slide your phone on the bed.

The bathroom is not big, but it still has a bathtub. After a long day at the hotel, you can take a bath and relax. It's just that the toilet is not a maintenance-free toilet, which is quite rare. Place small towels between the sink and the wall to make full use of space.

The design of the shower gel and shampoo bottles is very similar to that of Diptyque, a top Paris fragrance brand.

Hotel breakfast

Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the first floor and we were the only group of guests. Breakfast is a set meal, with basic bread, eggs, ham, sausage, French fries, fruit, yogurt, hot soup and juice. The taste is very ordinary. Originally, I ordered the breakfast-included plan because the price included breakfast was only a little more expensive. As expected, the breakfast was only worth the small amount of money.

In summary, the location of Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall is very good. It is close enough to the subway station and there are many options for eating nearby. Although the hotel itself is positioned as an affordable hotel, its style is simple, the room size is moderate, and it is quite comfortable to stay. It's just that the breakfast is a bit simple, so I don't recommend buying more.
