On the beach of Hua Hin, there is such a fresh and graceful royal palace, with yellow pillars and light blue walls, which makes people who linger in it feel peaceful. It has a romantic name-the Palace of Love and Hope, but the story behind it ends in regret.
The rise of Hua Hin is related to King Rama VI of Thailand. It was this king who built this palace in the hope that his beloved wife could give birth to a little prince for him. However, he failed to do so in the end. After the queen gave birth to a little princess, Rama VI immigrated to Switzerland and settled down. Rama VII was succeeded by his youngest nephew, and now only this palace is left as a permanent memory.
Walking along a long path, a very inconspicuous green door is the entrance to the Palace of Love and Hope. There is no golden splendor of the royal palace in the impression, but only the elegance and tranquility of a private courtyard. You cannot wear overly revealing clothes when visiting the palace. Shorts and skirts above the knees are not allowed to enter. You must rent a sarong to cover yourself at the door. It is free to rent a sarong, you can get it by registering your passport.
The Thai royal palace likes to use teak as a building material, and the Palace of Love and Hope is no exception. This is a teak stilt palace, supported by 1,080 pillars, divided into three parts, the banquet hall, the bedroom of Rama VI and the bedroom of the queen, a total of 16 stilt buildings, connected by a corridor in the middle. Each building has 2 to 3 floors, with rooms, and the roofs are painted red. The walls and windows of each building are painted in different colors depending on the room where the king, princess and other royal family members and ministers live to distinguish them. All living activities are on the second floor, and the second floors of the two buildings are connected by a teak corridor. The buildings are facing the sea, in the format of the font, and in the wing rooms on the left and right sides and in the center, there are corridors extending to the seaside, and there are small piers and viewing rooms for the king and princess to swim in the sea and enjoy the scenery.
The interior of the building is all teak floors, and many maintenance staff have wiped it spotlessly. Visitors must take off their shoes to enter the second floor, and taking photos is not allowed. The staff will give you a cloth bag for your shoes, and then you can walk barefoot. The warm texture of the wood penetrates into your heart, which makes people think that the king and queen also walked here hand in hand. The palace, which has been converted into a museum, also provides cultural relics and photos of the Thai royal family. In some rooms on the second floor, you can also see bedding and clothes used by royal members at that time.
This place has an excellent sea view. Whenever summer comes, Rama VI and the princess come here for vacation. Take advantage of the excellent climate conditions here and wander around the romantic style of the seaside to see if they can have a son in one fell swoop, but they never get what they want. In addition, the vegetation in the garden is also very rich. The large lawn is full of blooming frangipani trees. It is great to sit here and enjoy the beautiful scenery and blow the sea breeze. |
