The Grand Palace: Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, it is one of the most important royal palaces in Thailand. It was first built in 1782 AD, with a total area of approximately 218,400 square meters. It gathers the essence of Thai painting, carving and decorative arts. The palace buildings are mainly white and surrounded by white palace walls.
Wat Phra Kaew: Situated within The Grand Palace, it is the most famous Buddhist temple in Thailand and one of the country's three national treasures. It enshrines the Emerald Buddha, the most sacred Buddha statue in Thailand, which is carved from a single piece of emerald.
Wat Pho: It is the oldest temple in the whole of Bangkok and also the largest temple in Thailand. It has the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand as well as the largest number of Buddha statues and pagodas. The reclining Buddha in the temple is 46 meters long, with its feet being 5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. The two feet are overlapped, and each is decorated with 108 auspicious patterns made of mother-of-pearl inlay.
Wat Arun: Located on the right bank of the Chao Phraya River, it was built to commemorate King Taksin, the 41st monarch of Thailand. It is known as the "Eiffel Tower of Thailand". Its architectural style is unique, with the main pagoda being 82 meters high and surrounded by four smaller pagodas. |
