This food street in Bangkok is listed as the "coolest street in the world"!

Time Out magazine recently announced the 30 coolest streets in the world in 2024, and Ban Tad Thong in Bangkok made the list, ranking 14th, which is impressive! In Bangkok, where food is everywhere, this long road stretches from Saphan Lueang junction to Phet Phra Ram junction, with a total length of 2.2 kilometers. Dry spicy egg noodles from Chula Jao Khao



This famous restaurant has been serving kuay teaw khae (dry spicy egg noodles) the traditional way for nearly 60 years. Each bowl of noodles comes with a variety of toppings including pork, fish or tofu balls.

Jeh Wan's desserts



This dessert shop is famous for its light and refreshing desserts, such as the signature Ovaltine grass jelly soy milk and water chestnut iced glutinous rice balls with soy milk. The smooth grass jelly tastes refreshing, the rice flour balls on the outside of the iced glutinous rice balls are very tough, while the inside is soft and glutinous. Coupled with the generous sesame filling, it is no wonder that even locals line up to buy them.

Jeh Keang's stewed duck/goose



This restaurant (formerly located in the Saphan Lueang area) is a favourite for its braised duck and goose. Not only is the hearty dish delicious, but it's also a steal at just 100 baht per portion. Other parts of the duck are also on the menu, such as braised intestines and wings.

Pung Ded's stuffed toast



This is one of four branches of the popular toast cafe Pung Ded, which also has outlets in Silom, Asok and Chok Chai 4. The best seller is the crispy stuffed bread, which comes with a variety of fillings, from ham and cheese to smoked salmon and strawberry cream cheese. The best part is, they cost less than 50 baht!

Chicken rice at Jeh Bow



Jeh Bow, known as the "Queen of Suan Luang," has run this chicken rice restaurant for more than 30 years. The restaurant's chicken rice sells out almost every day, so come early to enjoy steamed or fried chicken, served with fragrant jasmine rice and chicken broth.

Tuay Tung's snacks



One of the newer restaurants in the area, Tuay Tung serves homemade ice cream (try the signature chestnut flavour) and soft, chewy Chinese buns, available in steamed (79 baht) and fried (89 baht) flavours. You can also order soy milk, Taiwanese milk tea, Merlot milk and the best-selling apple Sidra (65 baht).

Nai Song's Satay Pork Skewers



This satay skewer stall on Soi Chula 6 is another must-visit when visiting the area. For nearly four decades, it has been making juicy grilled pork skewers (9 baht each), served with peanut sauce and Thai cucumber sauce.

Tung Chae Tao Tan's fried noodles

Ming Phochana's Satay Skewers
