When Traveling to Taiwan, in addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery of the tea garden in Chiayi, of course you have to go to the Skywalk. With a total length of 281 meters and an altitude of about 1,000 meters, it is the best place to overlook the Taiwan Strait. It is also known as the South of the Clouds Road. When you walk from one end of the ladder to the other, you will see the crowd gradually shrinking, and only the breathtaking beauty of nature will come into view. If you continue forward on the South of the Clouds Road, you can see the scenery of the tea sky. It is also a peaceful place where you can bathe in nature and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It takes about 1 hour to walk the entire trail. Then you can turn to the old street to eat local food. The first one to bear the brunt is of course Chiayi Penshui Chicken Rice, which is a chain store with 10 branches that is easy to find. It is also an old store that has been in business for 60 years. Its chicken is chewy, the rice is distinct, the sauce is rich but not too salty, and it is served with fragrant and over-squeezed shallots, and the sweet radish that is just right when you are tired of it. Everything is just right.
Pin'an Tofu Pudding is a must-try when you come to Chiayi. It is a traditional delicacy inherited from a 60-year-old shop. The soy milk smoothie tofu pudding is full of bean flavor, sweet but not greasy, and the tofu pudding is super dense. Each ingredient has just the right sweetness and taste. Let you refresh yourself in this hot summer. The roasted fire-baked donuts made on site are also a good dessert after the meal. The crispy caramel and crunchy taste of the donuts are paired with a fragrant and smooth sauce. If you encounter it, you must try it. Chiayi local cakes are made with vermicelli, shredded radish, cabbage, poached eggs, and peppery and salty cake skin. They are fried into a round dumpling-like shape. They are crispy and delicious. It is a delicious salty afternoon tea.
