We landed at noon and met up with friends and started to go shopping immediately. There is an hour time difference between Vietnam and us. I like it very much. I always feel that I have earned an hour to play! Ps: When I came out of the airport, there were many Vietnamese people waiting to pick me up. There were so many people, and they surrounded the exit. Everyone held flowers and signs. Just like the local weather, it was very hot.
We booked accommodation near the Hoan Kiem Lake on the first day. We did a strategy beforehand and found that the food we wanted to eat was basically around the lake. The small hotel we booked was also cheap. At that time, I looked at agonda and airbnb and found that most of them were very cheap (of course, there are also expensive ones with relatively better environment, but for us, there are many choices in the price range of 100-180)
The first meal
Snail meat pho
We planned to eat several meals a day and have everything we wanted, so we ordered one for each of us. As an aside, before we went there, I saw on xhs that Vietnam was a bit anti-H, so I was a little worried at first, but when we actually landed, we didn't feel that atmosphere at all. The locals were very nice. For example, the lady boss of this store saw that we two girls ordered one and took the initiative to take a small bowl and pour some soup and snail meat for us to share. She also refilled our noodles once in the middle. Of course, we also thought it was impossible for it to be free. At the end, when we paid the bill, because the lady boss and another clerk didn't speak English, the customer who was eating noodles next to us helped translate for us. After eating, we continued to shop and visited the convenience store. I bought this bubble tea ice cream, it's delicious!
I realized later that the most common circle K convenience store in Vietnam is our OK
By the way, I think you need to wear a mask on CityWalk in Vietnam because there are a lot of motorcycles and the exhaust gas is very serious. Then I tried their very famous egg coffee (very delicious, must try!), saw fried banana cakes and fried yogurt ice cream on YT, and chicken pho in the evening.
The dry pho is also delicious
In fact, we only visited two attractions, one is that we didn’t have enough time, and the other is that we wanted to focus on eating.
St. John's Church
I recommend going to this church at night haha

1. The next afternoon, we bought a sleeping bus to Hue on an app called FUTA bus. We arrived there after a nap. Vietnam's infrastructure is relatively poor. We didn't find the train schedule right. The cost and time are higher than the bus. The final stop of that bus is actually Da Nang. Before getting on the bus, you need to tell the attendant where you want to get off. He will come to remind you when you are about to arrive. We arrived in Hue at around 6 o'clock in the morning and took a taxi to the B&B. I heard that there seems to be a shuttle bus that can take you to the city for free. When we returned to Hanoi, we took the shuttle bus to the boarding point first. But when we went there for the first time, we were not sure so we took a taxi directly. It was not expensive.
2. The center of Hue is their imperial city, and other attractions are a bit far away. On the first day, we visited a small palace. On the second day, we went to the Imperial City. The Imperial City is very small. I came here anyway. Hahahahaha
3. Then the next afternoon, we returned to Hanoi by the same route.
4. To sum up, we only booked two nights of accommodation, and spent the other two nights on the bus. The itinerary was a bit awkward, mainly because of the limited budget. We wanted to go back before the Chinese New Year. Otherwise, we could go further south to visit places like Ho Chi Minh and Mui Ne, and then return directly to Ho Chi Minh. But we had a lot of fun these days, and there will be opportunities in the future anyway~
